It is no wonder that Emma Freeman's film was the 2002 winner of the world's larges short film festival, trop fest. Lamb explores themes such as friendship ad poverty, and will have you both smiling and tearing up during its seven minute duration.
The short film gives insight into the darkfives of a young bling boy and his farme father... How will this family survive (father and his son), that they live in a farm with a sheep and a dog. The boy was and every
The director of lamb must be very proud of herself on this short film as it won one of the biggest short film competitions .Allthough it is a heart touching story of a father trying his best to try and salvage what he can while there is a terribale drought ,and he doing his best for his young son who is blind .
The young father must try his best to get as much food as possibale but the crops keep failing .The son has created a close bond to a little lamb wich the father has made a road like rope wich leadfs the little boy to his bestfriened .
The sound track to this film is somehow AWFULL!! it is very depressing and i think it does not help with the short film!
Allthough the sound track is not the grateest the seven minute duration that is very heart touching. The short film gives insight into the dark lives of a poor family. Of a farmer father and a blind boy. The blind boy has a strong freindship with a lamb until the farther gets into the picture
It is no wonder that Emma Freeman's film was the 2002 winner of the world's largest short film festival .The story line is very deep and thought provoking, producing and overall is full of dull images ,conveying a very poor kind of setting.
The short film gives insight into the dark lives of a young blind boy and his father. They live in a very dark and dull looking house with a dog and a lamb. The young blind boy goes out ti the lamb everyday to pet it and give it affection, but the father has to make a very tough decision in order for them to survive.
I liked this movie because it shows that there are a lot of people in the world who are poor .It also shows the powerful friendship that a human can have with an animal.Seeing how caring, enjoyable and comforting the boy was to the animal .
I didn't like the music in this short film. Overall i don't think the soundtrack reached it's potential at all.
I like this short film although i thought the soundtrack was disappointing. I loved the way such a strong massage about friendship and poverty was put across. The dark and dull colors in the short film give a very sad and depressing effect witch made the story line so effective.

There is a saying 'what goes up must come down.'When your life is going good at some stage it will have to go bad. For the main characters in lamb the bling boy and the farmer father it is the opposite. How many bad things have to happen in their life for it to go up?
Filmed in 2002 by Emma Freeman this 7 minute short film explores a lot of themes, such as friendship, betrayal l and guilt. Set in an Australian desert at the time of drought, what dilemmas a cure when the father of the blind boy realise that the boy's pet lamb is the last living creature on their farm. What risk will the father make to keep him and his son alive?
The visual images are capturing. The dull, dark colours inside the house show how poor they are add too the emotion. The mood of hopelessness, of endless days filled with poverty. The music is also very effective. it makes scene very emotional and hard to watch. There is a very effective crescendo in this film. The talented camerawork brings you into the film, helping you feel like you're one of the characters there. The angle of the camerawork is very impressive and the close - ups give you an insight into their lives, how the father is stressed and the boy sad but is very happy when he is with his lamb.
On the other hand, the performance of the two actors is very disappointing. Even though this is a short film I think some scenes could have been extended. I wonder how it won an award at tropfest 2002.
Overall, 'Lamb' is a very good short film with excellent visuals, amazing sound track but a massive let down with performance. I give 'Lamb' 8 stars.

The sort film gives insight into the dark lives of a young blind boy and his famer father...How will this family survive through the clrought? The story is about 1 family(father and his soon), that they live in a farm with a sheep and a dog. The boy was blind and every day he went outside with the sheep and spent hours and hours there
The short film is very well done and the characters are very good. Music is a super important thing in short films. Music in this is super good. The landscape is very dark but it fits perfectly with with the story
The only bad thing about this short film is that it would be very sad. There is no problem to put because everything is quite well done
I think it is one of the best shorts I have seen. Nor is it that I have seen many but this is very good for everything
