    Jules Isn't Likeable

The musical parts of this episode are very entertaining, and Shawn gives a great performance throughout; but I can't help but question the decision to have Juliet be the tough cop instead of Lassiter. In every episode where she is, it doesn't come off. Here, it makes Lassiter look very bored and it seems he could phone in his very small part.

The character of Joon is funny and touching and it makes one wonder how much better the later episode with Blackapella -- er, Quarterblack -- would have been with Joon instead of Drake.

Not good enough to hit a high note

This episode had a couple of funny jokes but the references maint not age well. The into had a entertaining acapella theme, but I did not think this episode held up to the others, for example they did not show shawns hyper observant technique at all. The ending was surprising and not that predictable.

The SBPD attitude is a little off-putting but still good

The timing of this episode is a little suspect, especially in the episode prior where Shawn literally saves Juliet's life. So the sudden coldness towards Shawn and Gus is a little uncomfortable and makes it a little hard to watch but it is a good episode and showcases the boys singing ability as well. The tight lips and coldness from the SBPD does make sense in a way because of the severity of the crime, bringing in an undercover cop and trying to stop a breach but ultimately they are able to get back to normal BECAUSE of Shawn and Gus but this episode belongs in a couple places in the series, like maybe after some ugliness between Shawn and Juliet, but I feel like this wasn't a good place for it. Kind of a random "we don't need you, but thanks for all the bad guys you helped put away" that continues even into the next episode to an extent. But all of that aside it's still a great and classic Pysch episode.

    • Goofs
After being inspired by all the Blackapella history, Shawn says to Gus that he wishes he could have known him when he was black. However, it is well established that they have been best friends since childhood. Shawn has always known Gus. Ostensibly he meant that he wishes he could have been part of his life during the years when Gus was away at college (which Shawn did not attend).
