In 2024, over 17 million, #EV cars were sold. International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA)’s 1.5°C Scenario suggests the sale will rise to 60 million per year by 2030, driving demand for the materials used in EV batteries. Meeting this demand sustainably will be central to the #EnergyTransition. See recommended actions to ensure #sustainable & affordable supply of critical materials for EV batteries: https://lnkd.in/gXBkjHYS

📍 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia 📅 August 25 – 27 #HappingNow The International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA), under the Accelerated Partnership for Renewables in Africa (APRA), is running its second Project Finance and Project Facilitation Workshop in collaboration with GET.invest, and local partners, hosted by the Ethiopian Ministry of Water and Energy. This workshop is part of a series of capacity-building engagements across #APRAfrica countries, leading up to the #APRAfrica Investment Forum in Sierra Leone, and aims to strengthen the capabilities of both public and private sector actors in project development and financing for #renewableenergy. Participants – including project developers, financing institutions, government agencies, and NGOs – are engaging in: ✅ Technical sessions on project finance and proposal development ✅ Hands-on support for packaging bankable project proposals ✅ Bilateral meetings with government, project developers and utility representatives ✅ Roundtable discussions to address stakeholder challenges and priorities The training also highlights #IRENA’s project facilitation services, including access to funding and technical assistance through the Energy Transition Accelerator Financing Platform (#ETAF) and the Climate Investment Platform (CIP). Stay tuned for updates and outcomes from this impactful engagement in Ethiopia.🔗 More about the APRA Investment Forum: https://lnkd.in/gShxEZKn
