As the peak body, we advocate, connect, inform and promote and behalf of, and for our network members
About us
As the peak body for robotics in Australia, we advocate, connect, inform and promote on behalf of, and for our network members, and the broader robotics community in Australia. We aspire to see an Australian robotics industry that supports the strength and competitiveness of our domestic industries; including mining, energy, agriculture, manufacturing, construction, avionics, defence, and many more. Whilst Australia has strong robotics and automation capabilities it still requires a more rapid adoption of robotics and automation via focussed efforts on education, workforce upskilling and job changes, positive narrative, cultural mindset, skill shortage, remoteness challenges, risk, safety and efficiency gains. By addressing these aspects, stronger collaboration has the potential to raise Australia’s domestic and international profile in robotics given our existing capabilities, unique economic and geographic features (resources industry, low population density, remoteness, extreme environments), and a strong demand already in place for these technologies. The network has four main objectives: Promote and facilitate the creation of a robotics manufacturing and technology industry in Australia; Support existing Australian robotics and automation companies and encourage collaboration; Increase the adoption of robotics technology across Australia, including in SME supply chains; Develop and foster a positive social narrative in Australia around robotics. Membership to the Robotics Australia Network is now open. Join us and amplify your impact as a robotics business in Australia.

Our network member, FBR, continues to pioneer the future of robotics in Australia — unveiling its latest innovation, the DST®-enabled Mantis™ welding robot, designed for high-deposition, large-scale fabrication in industries like mining, shipbuilding, and defence. Building on the proven capabilities of their Hadrian X® bricklaying robot, Mantis™ leverages Dynamic Stabilisation Technology® (DST®) to deliver precise, scalable, and efficient robotic welding — with up to 25kg/hr deposition, 8-metre reach, and laser-guided seam tracking. Designed in-house and programmable via Verbotics software, Mantis™ allows simulation, performance comparison, and seamless deployment — offering users a powerful, off-the-shelf robotic solution for welding heavy parts in dynamic environments. FBR’s work showcases how Australian robotics can solve industry pain points like labour constraints, low productivity, and scale complexity — all through homegrown innovation and sovereign IP. Our network member, Infinite Robotics, is helping solve some of the biggest pain points in welding — from labour shortages and inconsistent welds to slow changeovers — with their cobot welding setups. No programming experience needed. Their integration with Verbotics, another network member of ours, even allows creating programs directly from CAD models. They’ve paired a FANUC CRX cobot with a 2-axis positioner using FANUC coordinated motion, ensuring every weld stays in the ideal position — no more manual flipping, re-clamping, or guesswork. 👍 Easy to teach 👍 Fast to set up 👍 Consistent, repeatable welds Backed by deep experience in robotic welding, they offer real gains in uptime, quality, training, and expert support. Thinking about adding cobot or robot welding to your workshop? Infinite Robotics is ready to make it work for you. Follow Infinite Robotics for more information.
