This week, Sunshine Coast Airport celebrated NAIDOC Week with a lot of reflecting, learning, and honouring the rich cultures and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We were especially grateful to spend time with Mack and Choppy from Undumbi Culture, who shared their knowledge, stories, and wisdom with us. A big thank you to our terminal retailer Cater Care, who hosted a special morning tea in celebration of the vibrant culture and traditions of Australia’s First Nations peoples, including a unique taste of NAIDOC recipe: Old Man Saltbush and Mountain Pepperberry Seafood with Lemon Myrtle Aioli. NAIDOC Week is a powerful reminder that there's always more to learn and so much to be inspired by. #NAIDOCWeek 🖤💛❤️

🌏 It’s World Environment Day, and with this year’s theme focused on reducing plastic pollution, Sunshine Coast Airport is proud to shine the spotlight on our partnership with Containers for Change QLD (COEX) ♻️ In March 2024, we introduced this program inside the Terminal and has since expanded across the entire airport precinct. It diverts eligible containers from landfill and into recycling, while raising funds for local community groups and supporting our broader sustainability goals. Thanks to the support of our local partner, The Change Exchange – Coolum Beach, we have diverted 128,104 containers so far - that's 86 tonnes of CO2 kept out of landfill! This initiative complements our recent collaborations with Simply Cups - Paper Cup Recycling Program and Plastic Free Coolum, reinforcing our ongoing commitment to waste reduction and carbon footprint minimisation. Together, we’re making every container count 🌿 👉 Read more about our sustainability efforts here: https://lnkd.in/eENxna8c
