Back to school, back to art 🎒 As pupils return to class last and this week, Bozar is ready to welcome them for inspiring encounters with art — guided by people like Pascale Van den Storme, who has been leading school groups since 2005: “I love guiding in dialogue, which is why I’m especially looking forward to the John Baldessari exhibition. His playful, thought-provoking art is perfect to spark curiosity and conversation with pupils.” For Pascale, every tour is unique. Often it’s the pupil who least wanted to join who ends up asking the most surprising questions. That’s the transformative power of art and of a guide who knows how to connect with young audiences. Teachers, make art part of your school year! Book a guided visit to Baldessari or explore our full programme for primary and secondary education: 👉 bozar.be/education

About us
Bozar, the Centre for Fine Arts’ cultural project, offers a dynamic and diversified cultural programme of concerts and exhibitions: a multidisciplinary approach in which debates, theatre, cinema, literature and other disciplines meet to reflect on the connections between art and society. — The Centre for Fine Arts aims to be a European cultural centre, anchored in the 21st century, with a novel and innovative view of society, a laboratory of ideas attuned to society’s current and future challenges. In the coming decade, Bozar aims to embody change, and contribute to seven major and evolving societal challenges. Sitting atop Coudenberg Hill, monumental and yet discreet, the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts is Belgium’s major cultural venue. In 1913, Queen Elisabeth and King Albert I expressed their desire to build “a temple devoted to Music and the Arts”. Designed by renowned Belgian architect Victor Horta (1861-1947), construction began after the First World War. Upon returning from his stay in the United States, Horta abandoned his flamboyant, industrial Art Nouveau style for the more monumental and geometric language of Art Deco. Inaugurated in 1928, the Centre for Fine Arts is a testimony to this aesthetic revolution. For nearly a century, the centre has hosted the art world’s crème de la crème, and it is where most of Bozar’s cultural and artistic activities are held.

A new summer tradition begins. Zoe Gray, Director of Exhibitions at Bozar, introduces Bozar Monumental, our new annual summer commission that reclaims the Horta Hall as a stage for sculpture. The inaugural edition is entrusted to German artist Michael Beutler, known for his large-scale, playful installations made from simple, sustainable materials like cardboard, wood and paper. His collaborative, ever-evolving approach invites visitors to experience the space in a new and dynamic way. On view all summer at Bozar. Bozar Monumental is part of a series of artistic projects made possible with the support of BNP Paribas Fortis. We thank them warmly for their continued commitment to contemporary creation. #Bozarbrussels #MeaningfulPartnerships

As the PKPP Polish Presidency of the EU Council has come to an end, we take a moment to reflect on the powerful cultural momentum it brought to Bozar. From the thought-provoking exhibition Familiar Strangers to the captivating presence of Nobel Prize laureate Olga Tokarczuk, Polish culture was in the spotlight these past months, offering new perspectives and meaningful encounters. Thank you to our partners, especially the Instytut Adama Mickiewicza and the incredible Olga Wysocka (she/her), Olga Brzezińska, Weronika Elertowska, Weronika Wojda, Ewa Gubiec, Julia Girulska, Justyna Laskowska and Joanna Andruszko, for their unwavering support and collaboration. Our thanks go out also to the Ministerstwo Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego, and mainly the Minister Hanna Wróblewska and the Deputy Minister Marta Cienkowska for their support. We now look forward to continuing this European cultural dialogue with the start of the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU 2025. #PolishPresidency #BozarBrussels #CulturalDiplomacy #EuropeanCulture

The last two days, we had a very special one: we hosted the pledging event of Gavi to collect fundings for the next five years of vaccination campaigns in developing countries. We welcomed Bill Gates and around 20 head of states fo this event. Result: 9 billion USD collected…
