This summer, together with 51N4E, M-gineers and Vanhout, we delivered the first of our CNTR redevelopment projects in Halle. By repurposing the existing structure, adding modern technical installations & introducing renewable energy, the building was given a new lifecycle. After this sustainable renovation, only 4% of the office buildings in Flanders (including new builds) are more sustainable than this one, no small feat for a redevelopment from the 1980’s. The building will house offices for the federal services of Justice & Finance, on a long-term lease agreement with the Belgian Buildings Agency. The nearly 4.000m² will efficiently accommodate the two federal agencies that were previously spread over 2 buildings. Together with the transformation of the original building and enhancing use of spaces , we are also very proud to have had such a great building team. The close collaboration with our contractor and integrated approach with our architects and engineers is a way of working that has allowed this project to be renovated in a record time of 11 months.

Miix has acquired CNTR Tielt from DWNTWN. CNTR Tielt comprises a 4.400 m² building on 5.600 m² of land in the centre of Tielt. Given it’s urban zoning in a residential area this project was no longer within the strategic scope of DWNTWN. Miix specialises in innovative urban housing concepts with emphasis on mixed-use, sustainability and greenery. With this deal we are parting from this CNTR location and look forward to see it being redeveloped to lively and future-proof housing.
