The new Smurfs attraction at Plopsaland Deutschland 3- Expanding the Model to Include Key Elements Simulating the Ride Experience Our role expanded beyond structural modeling to include the attraction’s thematic elements—trees, Smurfs, mushroom houses, and even the mischievous Gargamel, this in close collaboration with the Plopsa Design Team. These models didn’t just look the part; they also incorporated dynamic movements to simulate the actual functioning of the future attraction." This 3D model convinced the Plopsa Design Team in each aspect of the project, managing with light and textures to create the feeling is supposed to be. To bring the ride to life, we developed an animation simulating the visitor’s journey. The new Smurfs attraction at Plopsaland Deutschland 1- The scanning phase Scanning the Old Attraction To begin, we scanned the entire attraction building using state-of-the-art static and mobile scanners. The static scanners captured the existing metal structure of the building and the rail system for creating an accurate 3D model, while mobile scanners enabled us to map complex, dynamic areas quickly. This combination ensured a complete and detailed digital representation of the structure. Overcoming Challenges Capturing the intricate details of a structure this unique came with challenges, such as limited access to certain areas and ensuring seamless integration of the scan data. Our team's expertise and use of advanced software allowed us to deliver a flawless result that formed the foundation for subsequent phases. We’ve kept this project under wraps for 2 years — now we can finally share it with you! We’re proud to announce our involvement in one of the most exciting themed entertainment projects of recent years: the new Smurfs attraction at Plopsaland Deutschland. This project was unique for us. Alongside our usual responsibilities for surveying and 3D digitization, we were invited to contribute directly to the creative and technical design process — something that allowed us to truly push the boundaries of collaboration and innovation. In the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing insights into each phase of the project: from initial models to final realization, including how we worked closely with other creative companies and the talented team at Plopsa to make this vision a reality. Fotogrammetrie van de Sint-Gertrudiskerk in Ternat: documentatie voor restauratiewerken   Door het vastleggen van zeer nauwkeurige geometrische gegevens en de verscheidenheid aan materiaal details, biedt fotogrammetrie een diepgaande inzicht aan restauratie professionals. Archeologiedagen 2025: Geschiedenis Bewaren met 3D-Technologie Wist je dat onze 3D-scanservices ook een belangrijke rol spelen in de archeologie? Hoewel we vaak geassocieerd worden met architectuur en engineering, zijn we net zo gepassioneerd over het helpen ontdekken en bewaren van geschiedenis. Tijdens de Archeologiedagen (23–25 mei) vieren we een van onze meest bijzondere archeologische projecten in Schelderode. In de Sint-Martinuskerk hebben we de oude graven onder de vloer nauwkeurig in kaart gebracht. Hoewel de graven nu weer bedekt zijn, zorgen onze gedetailleerde 3D-modellen ervoor dat dit indrukwekkende stukje geschiedenis toegankelijk blijft—zodat je virtueel kunt ontdekken wat er onder je voeten ligt!
