How do doctors analyse your blood test results and determine those final values? It’s a complex process. Behind the scenes, scientists like Liesbet and her team at the Joint Research Centre develop Certified Clinical Reference Materials (CRMs). These materials ensure that blood test results are accurate, reliable, and consistent across laboratories in Europe, whether for routine check-ups or diagnosing rare diseases. 🎥 Learn more about their work from Liesbet herself 👇

📢 Today, Mission Innovation – a global initiative to accelerate clean energy solutions where the European Commission has been a proud partner for many years – launches its 10-Year Impact Report. This release comes during the 10th Mission Innovation Ministerial, which takes place at a decisive moment – with 2030 fast approaching, the world must scale clean energy solutions faster and bolder than ever before. MI-10 is where the European Commission and member countries will celebrate a decade of results and chart the next phase of global collaboration to deliver on net-zero goals. The report proves how global collaboration is turning clean energy ambition into action: ✅ Over 114,189 clean energy patents filed in MI member countries ✅ Falling costs of renewables – now cheaper than fossil fuels in most of new large-scale projects ✅ 156% growth in renewable energy integration among Mission Innovation members, making net zero pathways more achievable worldwide The Impact Report charts this progress and sets the direction for the years ahead – accelerating breakthroughs, scaling what works, and ensuring the benefits of innovation are shared globally. 👉 Explore the report: https://lnkd.in/d4eHm_qv a

Meet Wojciech! He’s part of a team of researchers who use non-harmful fungi to create coatings that allow buildings to “heal” themselves - just like skin. In his lab, Wojciech studies how these fungi interact with different materials, paving the way for sustainable and resilient architecture in our cities. This is science in action, shaping the future of architecture. Visit the website to learn more about the research: europa.eu/!QQggcR #Science4EU InnoRenew CoE

Millions of people and goods move across Africa every day. They face long delays, limited infrastructure, and high costs. This can change. Targeted investments can support mobility, trade, and sustainability across the continent. Our scientists analysed 11 strategic corridors running through 30 African countries. The study revealed where investments can make the biggest difference. It can further guide the EU, the European Investment Bank (EIB), Member States, and partners towards projects that deliver both local and global benefits, for people and the planet. Some key findings: 🚆 Improving transport & accessibility brings the biggest impact 🌱 There is a strong potential to reduce emissions while protecting ecosystems 📈 Investments in productive areas in West Africa that are under-connected could deliver particularly high returns 💻 Digitalisation remains the hardest challenge, requiring smart combinations of fibre and mobile networks Read more: https://lnkd.in/eZVwPa-x Global Gateway
