Chris Bowers Joins Morrison Foerster as Chief Innovation and Information Officer
(August 28, 2025) – Morrison Foerster, a leading global law firm, is pleased to announce the arrival of Chris Bowers as Chief Innovation and Information Officer, based in the Boston office. Bowers will be responsible for delivering upon the firm’s global AI, innovation and digital transformation initiatives to drive the firm’s continued growth and success.
As Chief Innovation and Information Officer, Bowers will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the firm’s AI and digital strategy, creating new innovative capabilities to drive scale, and enabling evolving business operating models in the firm’s dynamic global business environment. Bowers joins Morrison Foerster after serving for five years as Global Chief Information Officer of Boston Consulting Group (BCG). As BCG’s CIO, Bowers led a strategic firmwide IT transformation, shifting from a legacy, on-premises, IT-centric model to a secure, cloud-based, product-driven organization focused on end-user experience, measurable business outcomes, and the adoption of AI-driven capabilities. In prior roles at BCG, Bowers managed its global product engineering and cloud-based infrastructure function and served on both the Finance and IT leadership teams.
“Chris brings nearly four decades of executive-level IT experience driving digital transformations, client and user-centric innovation, and growth at some of the world’s largest technology companies and management consulting firms,” said Brian Gross, Chief Operating Officer of Morrison Foerster. “We are thrilled to welcome Chris to MoFo and work together to advance our global digital strategy and operations, positioning us for continued growth and success well into the future.”
“MoFo is an industry-leading law firm, whose clients include some of the most innovative tech, life sciences, and financial services companies around the globe,” said Bowers. “I am excited to apply my hands-on experience developing strong teams and driving innovative AI-based solutions to take MoFo’s digital strategy to the next level in today’s fast-paced, tech-driven business landscape.”
At BCG, Bowers also served on the Global Operations Leadership Team and the Senior Talent Development Committee. He co-sponsored BCG’s strategic AI initiative, which was recently recognized with the 2025 CIO 100 Award for its generative AI-powered solution designed to streamline and accelerate slide creation. Prior to BCG, Bowers spent 11 years at EMC Corporation (now part of Dell Technologies), where he held several leadership roles, including serving as Business Unit CIO for the global enterprise sales and services division. Earlier in his career, he held roles at several business and data analytics firms. His leadership has been widely recognized, including being named Boston CIO of the Year in 2016 by Inspire CIO, where he was selected from a pool of 85 nominated CIOs and IT executives.
Bowers received his B.S. in computer science from Virginia Tech and his MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
