  • Joseph has been part of the #AmicaWhiteRock team since day 1. His commitment to his role supports his fellow team members and our residents. He lives our brand values everyday and we appreciate Joseph's #caringwithpurpose. Q: How long have you been working at Amica and your current residence? A: I have worked at Amica since April 2018, at #AmicaWhiteRock. I came on board during the last 5 months of construction of the building. At that time, I worked closely with Deb Nelson to open White Rock on schedule. Q: What initially drew you to this residence and industry? A: I actually live across the street from Amica White Rock and I watched it grow from a hole in the ground to what it is today, so somehow I knew I was going to be involved with the building. As for the industry, I have worked in both the hospitality industry and in senior living for over 30 years. Q: What are some of your roles and responsibilities? A: My main role here at Amica White Rock is to maintain the building to the highest standards. This includes: resident safety, fire safety, all mechanical as well as structural components of the building. Also coordinating all suite tours. I work on the capital projects budget and the budget for the Medical Office Building that is part of Amica White Rock. Q: What do you love most about working at Amica? A: I love the camaraderie between the team members and the residents. It’s like one big unit. Q: Tell us about a time you feel made a difference and owned your impact. A: There are so many to list, but I do believe that the biggest impact is making the residents feel at home and that they belong. Just the little things like getting to know them and having a conversation makes a big difference in their lives. Q: Are there any special moments, achievements, or milestones you’d like to share? A: For me the biggest moment was the opening of Amica White Rock and greeting the very first resident that moved in. Watching the building being built then working with an amazing team to get the building ready was fun and memorable. Interested in a career where you can grow every step of the way? • Discover how Stephanie Chand leads the way in wellness at #AmicaWhiteRock, dedicating her passion to exceptional care and inspiring health programs. #CaringWithPurpose Q: How long have you been working at Amica and your current residence? A: I’m proud to have been working at Amica White Rock for the past six years. This community has truly become my second home. Q: What initially drew you to this residence and industry? A: I was drawn to Amica because of its deep commitment to dignity, respect, and heartfelt care for seniors. I’ve always felt a calling to support others, and senior living has given me the most meaningful way to do that. Q: What are some of your roles and responsibilities? A: I oversee the health and wellness of our residents while supporting and mentoring our incredible care team. Every day, I advocate for our residents' well-being, ensuring they feel safe, seen, and valued. Q: What do you love most about working at Amica? A: It’s the relationships. The trust families place in us and the stories, laughter, and life shared with residents remind me daily why this work matters so deeply. I also absolutely enjoy working with a team that shares the same values. Q: Tell us about a time you feel made a difference and owned your impact. A: I once helped a family navigate a very difficult care transition with compassion and transparency, and to this day they say it brought them peace in a time of uncertainty. Moments like that remind me of the quiet power of presence and empathy. Q: Any there any special moments, achievements, or milestones you’d like to share? A: Self and personal growth! Amica was able to see my potential before I saw it myself. I started off as a Wellness Nurse then grew into the Resident Services Coordinator Role and now I am the Director of Wellness. Watching team members I’ve mentored grow into strong leaders and receiving heartfelt thanks from families over the years have been true highlights. It’s in those moments I feel the real impact of our work. Interested in a career where you can grow every step of the way?
