The vision of Feathers of Hope is to empower Indigenous Youth to create positive changes in their community
About us
2013 At the first Feathers of Hope forum in 2013, more than 100 youth (representing 62 of the 92 northern First Nations communities in Ontario) came to Thunder Bay to talk about the realities of life in their communities (i.e. mental and physical health, culture and identity, the legacy of residential schools, employment and opportunities for youth). Their voices and ideas for change were captured in a ground-breaking report entitled, Feathers of Hope: A First Nations Youth Action Plan.

Thank you to Indigenous Services Canada | Services aux Autochtones Canada for funding the second book in our series "Dear Sage". The first book for youth by youth going into the child welfare system was a huge success for Feathers of Hope. The sequel Dear Sage will address the issues of Familial and Gender Based Violence in the same format. Stay tuned for our Gathering to form this toolkit this Fall/Winter season. More information to come!!!!

amazing experience!
We were proud to support Feathers of Hope in their Youth Learning Gathering focused on navigating Canada’s Criminal Justice System. Young Indigenous leaders engaged with justice professionals and shared their insights to shape future resources that will help their peers better understand the system and advocate for change. The event made the news! 📺 Watch the story: https://lnkd.in/dWC2cAim 📰 Read the story: https://lnkd.in/dW_sYJXf Indigenous youth are not just participants — they are leaders, advocates, and changemakers.
