💧 Planning for Water Security in Alberta’s Special Areas 💧 We were proud to join our client, the Special Areas Board, at a series of community open houses in Hanna, Youngstown and Oyen to discuss the future of regional water servicing in one of Alberta’s most drought-prone regions. The Special Areas Board, in collaboration with the Henry Kroeger Regional Water Services Commission, is exploring ways to expand potable water access to more households across the region. As water becomes an increasingly scarce and valuable resource, the need for long-term, sustainable infrastructure continues to grow. MPE is pleased to support this critical initiative by: ✔ Quantifying the regional demand for potable water ✔ Refining and updating regional servicing concepts ✔ Assisting in the planning and pursuit of funding partnerships Our team members Colin McNab, Sarah Fratpietro, Chris Watson and Ryan Grell appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with local residents and hear firsthand about their experiences with water access, service reliability and the need for dependable long-term solutions. We’re always grateful for the opportunity to partner with our clients on projects that improve quality of life, support strong communities and help safeguard essential resources for the future. 🌿 Designing for Tomorrow – ALIDP Conference 2025 🌿 MPE a division of Englobe was pleased to participate in the recent Alberta Low Impact Development Partnership conference held in Edmonton—an insightful and forward-thinking annual event dedicated to advancing stormwater management, low-impact development (LID) and sustainable urban design. We were proud to contribute to the conversation—David Seeliger, P.Eng., our Stormwater Director, delivered a presentation on mitigating overland flooding through a strategic blend of LID and conventional tools. His session showcased the Kensington infiltration trench project, an innovative and cost-effective solution implemented for the City of Calgary to address persistent flooding and winter icing challenges while avoiding extensive infrastructure expansion. This conference provided an excellent opportunity to engage with industry experts, advance best practices and gain valuable insights as stormwater management remains a critical focus in sustainable urban development. We look forward to applying these learnings to drive innovation and resilience in our projects. #StormwaterManagement #LowImpactDevelopment #Sustainability #UrbanDesign #GreenInfrastructure #MPE #Englobe #FloodMitigation #DFTLIVE25
