Activities and Societies: Served within the studio team assigned with master planning of Sungei Kadot Industrial Estate, Singapore. The project was funded by JTC (Govt Body of Singapore) for ISD Program. My assigned role was to ensure coherence among sustainability strategies and material flows/ cycles within the proposed Masterplan of the revision industrial estate. Design bridging systems (Energy, Food, Water, District Cooling System) proposal to reach self-sufficiency at the precinct level.

The most important learning point was understanding sustainability in its true context, at the interdependencies, and circularity within the built environment. The program made me rethink what sustainability in design entails and how systems thinking is translated into each scale during design. Hence, my understanding of the subject matter changed altogether from sticking to LEED protocols to now investigating each decision and its impact on the real world. The program made me rethink what sustainability in design entails and how systems thinking is translated into each scale during design. Hence, my understanding of the subject matter changed altogether from sticking to LEED protocols to now investigating each decision and its impact on the real world. It broadened my knowledge and skills to be able to converse better with other project stakeholders on a deeper level, reaching a sustainable solution for our clients and projects.

I was able to upskill my engineering and construction management knowledge to Canadian standards. I got introduced to OSHA Act with the right to refuse work subject to safety concerns and how I can voice my feedback for better safe work practices with WHMIS 2015 certification.

I worked towards an intense one-year diploma program to become familiar with Ontario Building Code (OBC), Ontario provincial standards specifications/drawings (OPSS/ OPSD), MTO Contracts, Construction norms, means,…

I worked towards an intense one-year diploma program to become familiar with Ontario Building Code (OBC), Ontario provincial standards specifications/drawings (OPSS/ OPSD), MTO Contracts, Construction norms, means, and methods in Canada including permits, re-zoning, & municipalities approvals for land development.

I learned how protecting the environment and sustainability practices are performed in Canada. More interestingly, I got a chance to demonstrate Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) in conjunction with construction laws and ethics.

I earned comprehensive hands-on training on the management & technological aspects of residential, industrial, commercial, and institutional construction projects in Canada

Activities and Societies: American Concerete Institute (ACI),

I secured my first job the next day of my final research presentation, prior to my results announcement and formal program completion. It was a testament to my learning and efforts of multiple industry placements, Co-op internships, and research activities with multiple organizations while studying full-time. I never took my vacations at home, rather working on sites and gathering information for my research on BIM.

It was a testament to my learning and efforts of multiple industry placements, Co-op internships, and research activities with multiple organizations while studying full-time. I never took my vacations at home, rather working on sites and gathering information for my research on BIM.

My undergrad studies were equally balanced on the construction research and industry practices that allowed me to probe into details concerning design, engineering, and management of a variety of construction projects (high-rise buildings), roads network, infrastructure development, and institutional projects.
