About

𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐦𝐞? – A humble first-gen immigrant, data, research and analytics passionate consultant, author, certified life coach and mentor - with a knack for telling empathetic stories and a hint of humor.

𝐒𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧? - I blend storytelling, conversions, and human-centric data tactics to support nonprofits. My key influencers of life include my family, starting with my mother. Her perseverance is the voice in my head, pushing me to be better.

Broadly speaking, there are four pillars of my work:

➡️ Consulting
● End-to-end data collection (e.g., donor survey)
● In-house Advisory on AI Adoption
● Data analysis (e.g., you have the raw data for last survey)
● Data Collection Assessment (e.g., are you collecting right identity data points?)
● Data Equity Coaching (9-hours of my time on any data related issue you have)

➡️ Workshop/Training
You can hire me to conduct nonprofit-wide/team-wide/board workshops on:
● Advancing Equity in Data Collection
● Advancing Equity in Visualizations
● Moving Towards Human-Centric AI
● AI Coaching for Nonprofits (called AI Advancement Lab)
● Data For Good

➡️ Speaking
You can hire me as a session facilitator/Keynote speaker. My topics include (but not limited to):
● Doing good with data
● Tactical ways for nonprofits to get started with data equity
● Designing inclusive data collection tools
● Designing dashboards for good
● Responsible AI and AI adoption in nonprofits
● AI Equity
● Centering humans in algorithms

➡️ Writing
● You can invite me as a guest writer, or,
● You can re-print any of my existing articles (please reach out to access 50+ article repository) for a fee.

How Do You Relate to The Numbers You Collect in Your Nonprofit?

      With context and behavioral shifts.

Here are 4 examples in which you can connect to our numbers using context and behavioral shifts:

      With context and behavioral shifts.

Here are 4 examples in which you can connect to our numbers using context and behavioral shifts:

      1. Look at front-line service data, like how many people answered the emails when first time someone entered your world – think about what those numbers mean? The question isn't just who responded to the emails. The real question is what you need behaviorally and culturally to quickly and humanly respond to the emails of those who need your nonprofit's services.

      2. Look at inventory data, like how many other tools (physical or digital) you need to provide your services – start with thinking about how you can take the most advantage of all the tools you already have. Before signing up for new tools, evaluate how well you are utilizing what you already have for your goals for the year.

      3. Look at social media followers and connections you are inviting on your page – think about what those numbers could mean with a continuous engagement effort rather than only maintaining the social media page.

      4. Look at the program impact you made this month – think about the meaningful partnerships you made - with program participants, volunteers, donors, and for-profit value-aligned agencies. Look at the context of why these individuals and groups are associated with your mission, and you can find the reasons for engaging them with care in the long run.

Algorithms should center humans because humans are the ultimate users and decision-makers of the technology. Therefore, the design and development of algorithms should consider the impact that the technology will have on people, both in terms of benefits and potential harms.

Centering humans means taking into account the ethical, social, and economic implications of the technology, and ensuring that it is designed and used in ways that respect human rights, dignity, and autonomy.

Additionally, centering humans means ensuring that the algorithm is inclusive, and does not perpetuate bias or discrimination against certain groups of people. It also means that the algorithm should be transparent and explainable, so that people can understand how it works and how decisions are being made.

Join me for the workshop to learn how can we move towards human-centric AI.
