ICH Q3E: A New Framework for Extractables & Leachables (E&L)   The newly released ICH Q3E guideline (published by the International Council for Harmonisation of Technical Requirements for Pharmaceuticals for Human Use) is now open for public consultation until December 18, 2025. This long-anticipated document establishes a harmonized global framework for assessing and controlling extractables and leachables (E&L) in pharmaceuticals — with the ultimate goal of ensuring patient safety, product quality, and regulatory alignment.   Key Highlights of ICH Q3E: Scope & Principles – Defines how E&L risk assessment integrates into product development and lifecycle management. Chemical Testing – Outlines strategies for E&L studies, including semi-quantitative, quantitative, and simulated leachable testing, ensuring a science-based correlation between lab studies and real-world product use. Analytical Evaluation Thresholds (AETs) – Emphasizes the importance of establishing study-specific AETs and the use of appropriate analytical uncertainty factors. Want to Place Your Chemicals and Articles in the Turkish Market?   Don’t miss the last opportunity to pre-register your substances and get market access   To manufacture or import products in Turkey, the national law on chemical safety (KKDIK, the “Turkish” REACH) must be followed.   The regulation entered into force in 2017 and is gradually implemented.   The Competent Authority, the Turkish Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change (MoEUCC), published on 5th August 2025, the final version of the "Procedures and Principles" regarding the Implementation of KKDIK.   This document sets October 31st, 2025, as a LAST APPLICATION DATE for pre-registration, which is the procedure needed to place substances (as they are, in a mixture or in articles) on the Turkish Market, until the actual registration deadline. Also, Lead Registrants selection shall be completed by December 31, 2025, at the latest.   Deadlines for registration have not been changed by this document; therefore, they still are: •December 31, 2026: import/manufacture >1000 tpa, or substances classified as CMR Category 1 in quantity >1 tpa, or substances classified as Aquatic Acute 1 and/or Aquatic Chronic 1in quantity >100 tpa •December 31, 2028: >100 tpa •December 31, 2030: >1 tpa (Last registration deadline.
