Empire Energy has teamed up with Kuehne+Nagel (K+N) to strengthen the way offshore wind projects are delivered.

Empire Energy is a specialist provider of offshore wind services and, in combination with K+Ns global logistics expertise, the partners intend offer a unique proposition for wind energy project developers and OEMs. The scope covers turbine assembly, commissioning and operations through to heavy lift transport, port staging and international freight forwarding.

Felipe Cecilio, global project logistics solutions manager for K+N, said: “Taking on complex offshore wind projects with transport of heavy and oversized cargo requires global experts who know how to handle complex supply chains, risk management and strict deadlines. Together with Empire Energy, we will be able to provide tailored solutions to meet each customer’s needs.”

Speaking with HLPFI on the deal, K+N said that while the partnership has a global scope, it currently sees active opportunities across the USA, UK, wider Europe and Asia –all markets with significant ongoing and upcoming offshore wind developments. Both large, fixed-bottom and floating wind energy projects are in focus.

K+N added that reliability and assurance across the full offshore wind lifecycle is what makes this partnership unique: “K+N provides global logistics and supply chain strength, ensuring seamless continuity from port to port. Empire Energy operates as a managed service provider and brings decades of offshore wind experience across pre assembly, commissioning, operations and maintenance, supported by specialist technical teams. Together, we deliver predictable outcomes, lower hidden costs and greater accountability. Instead of piecing together multiple contractors, clients gain a single integrated solution that combines world class logistics with proven offshore delivery capability for both fixed bottom and floating wind projects.”

Earlier this month, HLPFI reported that K+N had appointed Eduardo Razuck and Søren Schmidt to its managerial board.
