(MONTEREY, Calif.) July 23, 2025 – ECR (Ed Carpenter Racing) announced today that Christian Rasmussen will carry a special edition Liquid Science paint scheme for the upcoming West Coast swing of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES. Beginning with this weekend’s Java House Grand Prix of Monterey and continuing through the Grand Prix of Portland, Rasmussen will race the No. 21 Liquid Science Chevrolet. Liquid Science is an optimized hydration beverage available as part of Java House’s Peel ‘n Pour™ lineup.
Known as the “Science of Hydration,” Liquid Science is formulated with a scientifically balanced blend of sugar-free electrolytes and vitamins. Each portable single-use pod is designed to be poured into cold or sparkling water to create a quick, easy and delicious solution for instant hydration. Varieties include Arctic Freeze, featuring a berry taste, and a new Orange flavor.
Rasmussen’s No. 21 Chevrolet will incorporate the blue from Liquid Science’s Arctic Freeze flavor, as well as ECR’s traditional brand colors Carpenter Blue and Indiana Gold. "I’m thrilled to have Liquid Science on board the No. 21 for the Java House Grand Prix of Monterey! WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is such an iconic track and an important part of the NTT INDYCAR SERIES calendar,” Rasmussen said. “To be able to represent Liquid Science and Java House while we are racing on the West Coast is an honor. What Java House has done with this partnership so far is amazing and I can’t wait to carry the Liquid Science colors!”
Java House joined ECR in September 2024 and has been primary sponsor of Alexander Rossi’s No. 20 Chevrolet since his first test with the team the following month. In addition to brick-and-mortar cafes in the Indianapolis and Lafayette, IN markets, Java House is known for its versatile Peel ’n Pour™ single serve beverage pods, which race fans have been able to try at each race across the country this season with over 65,000 samples given out. The innovative Indianapolis-based cold brew coffee brand will also serve as the title sponsor of this weekend’s NTT INDYCAR SERIES race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, now known as the Java House Grand Prix of Monterey. Samples of Java House’s full line of beverages will be available across the circuit, including their Amazingly Smooth cold brew coffees, lattes, teas, Liquid Science hydration drinks and more. Away from the track, Java House Espresso Martini Mix will be served at select restaurants in the Monterey area leading up to and during the race
WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is Rossi’s home race as he hails from Nevada City, Calif. “Seeing everything Java House has done this year is truly impressive. It is only their first year in the NTT INDYCAR SERIES and they have embraced every aspect of the sport,” stated Rossi. “It is incredibly cool to be racing the Java House Chevrolet in the Java House Grand Prix, which is my home race. We’re very excited to put on a great show for everyone this weekend!”
Of Rossi’s five previous starts at the track, four are Top 10 finishes. Last year, Rossi earned his highest result of the season when he finished on the podium in 3rd place. This year’s Java House Grand Prix of Monterey will be Rasmussen’s second NTT INDYCAR SERIES race at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. He is also no stranger to success at the facility as he secured the 2023 INDY NXT championship by winning both races two years ago.
The No. 20 Java House Chevrolet and the No. 21 Liquid Science Chevrolet will hit the track on Friday, July 25 with the opening practice session at 2 p.m. PT. Saturday, July 26 will feature a second practice at 8:30 a.m. PT and qualifying at 11:30 a.m. PT, followed by a warm-up session at 9 a.m. CT on Sunday.
