Just published: POLICY RECOMMENDATIONS FOR AN INCREASED SUPPORT OF CITIZEN SCIENCE IN PORTUGAL 🇵🇹 https://lnkd.in/dnZCvgig This policy brief is the result of the co-creation event “Citizen Science Ecosystems and Local-Regional-National Policies” held in Lisbon on July 1st, as part of the European Citizen Science (ECS) project, and organised by the Portuguese Citizen Science Network (RPCC). The event brought together key stakeholders from academia, civil society, public institutions, and the private sector to assess Portugal’s current citizen science (CS) landscape and co-develop strategic, forward-looking policy recommendations. The brief outlines seven key recommendations: - Formally recognise citizen science at all decision-making levels - Build capacity across sectors to reinforce participatory values - Develop CS education and lifelong learning programmes - Foster multilevel science-for-policy ecosystems - Support development of CS infrastructures - Professionalise CS communication and mediation roles - Ensure structural funding and tax incentives for CS initiatives These recommendations aim to embed CS more firmly in Portugal’s research and innovation system—promoting scientific excellence, inclusive engagement, and societal resilience. #ECSproject #CitizenScience #Portugal #SciencePolicy #PublicEngagement #CoCreatingChange #OpenScience #RPCC #PolicyBrief #QuadrupleHelix #RRI #EUCitSci

#𝐄𝐂𝐒𝐀𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 Heritage is still often defined by #heritage authorities. We ask whether citizens can be encouraged to join the heritage discourse by the means of citizen science and how we can tackle the questions of anonymity and polyphony especially when talking about ambivalent heritage.
