The Embedded Experts – It simply works!
Info
SEGGER Microcontroller develops and distributes hardware and software development tools as well as software components for embedded systems. An "embedded system" is one in which a microprocessor and associated components are incorporated into a device helping to accomplish difficult and complex tasks in products such as cell phones, medical instruments, instrument clusters, measurement instruments, satellite radios, digital cameras etc. Founded in 1992, SEGGER is privately held, has been profitable since its inception and is growing steadily. Headquartered in Monheim, Germany, with distributors on all continents and a local office in Massachusetts, SEGGER offers its full range of products worldwide. SEGGER software products include: Embedded Studio (IDE), embOS (RTOS), emWin (GUI), emFile (File System), emUSB-Device (USB device stack), emUSB-Host (USB host stack) embOS/IP (TCP/IP stack), emLoad (Bootloader), emLib (Helper Libraries), emModbus (Modbus stack). To complete the offering, the whole aspect of IoT is covered by digital signature (emSecure), encryption (emSSL, emSSH) as well as secure data exchange (Dropbox client). With the experience in programming efficiently on embedded systems, SEGGER created highly integrated, cost-effective programming and development tools, such as the Flasher (stand-alone flash programmer) and the industry leading J-Link / J-Trace debug probe. SEGGER’s intention is to cut software development time for embedded applications by offering affordable, high quality, flexible and easy-to-use tools and software components allowing developers to focus on their applications.

SEGGER’s powerful debugger and performance analyzer Ozone, long trusted by J-Link and J-Trace users, is now accessible for simulators and third-party debug probes via the GDB Remote Protocol. “After listening to requests from valued customers and developers, we decided to open up Ozone for use with their debug probes. I encourage every developer to try Ozone — it’s intuitive and powerful, and it shows you exactly what’s happening in your application. One of my favorite features is the source window, which can interleave C/C++/Rust code with disassembly, enabling users to gain maximum insight.” 💬 Rolf Segger, Founder of SEGGER ➡️ For more information, please visit https://lnkd.in/edzmxraZ #Debugger #EmbeddedSystems #JLink

Our long-standing partnership with NXP Semiconductors continues to bring exciting opportunities for the embedded community. We are thrilled to sponsor and participate in their NXP Technology Days, where experts from across the industry come together for free, hands-on technical training, workshops, and lectures. Tomorrow, September 9, 2025, we will be at NXP Tech Day in Irvine, California. If you can’t join us there, we will also be part of the NXP Tech Days in Boston and in Chicago later this year. We look forward to connecting with you! #NXPTechDays #EmbeddedSystems #EmbeddedDevelopment

Your system misses a deadline. Then another. Suddenly, your embedded device feels... sluggish. That’s how timing issues sneak in. Quietly at first, then all at once. Traditional #RTOS solutions rely on tick-based scheduling, which wastes CPU cycles waiting for the next tick — even when nothing needs to happen. That’s where embOS-Ultra changes the game. Built with Cycle-Resolution Timing, embOS-Ultra schedules tasks exactly when they’re needed — no sooner, no later. The result? ✅ Less CPU overhead ✅ Faster responsiveness ✅ Longer battery life It’s a smarter way to run real-time systems: precise, efficient, and built for today’s demands. Swipe through the slideshow to see what embOS-Ultra can do. To learn even more about embOS-Ultra, please visit: https://lnkd.in/eGEw3WNH

Modern microcontrollers include powerful security features — but configuring them often means dealing with complex, vendor-specific processes. The SEGGER Device Provisioner provides a uniform, automated solution for provisioning and securing devices: ➡️ Configure secure debug & programming access ➡️ Manage lifecycle states (e.g. lock/unlock, regression) ➡️ Set up TrustZone® partitions and security features ➡️ Automate workflows with flexible script support ➡️ Seamlessly integrate into production environments Included in the J-Link and Flasher Software Packages, the Device Provisioner works with our J-Link debug probes, J-Trace streaming probes, and Flasher programmers. 💡 Already using the Device Provisioner? We’d love to hear your feedback in the comments: https://lnkd.in/e7uaYqp2 #JLink #JTrace #DeviceProvisioning

As part of our Educational Partnership Program, SEGGER sponsors Team Sonnenwagen Aachen, a student-run engineering team from RWTH Aachen University and FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences. The team designs, builds, and races solar-powered electric vehicles in international competitions. Right now, their latest race car is competing in the World Solar Challenge 2025 in Australia, taking place this week. Starting from pole position on day one, the team faced an early technical setback, dropping to 14th place. Thanks to quick problem-solving by their electrical engineers, they climbed back to 8th by the first control stop—and ended the first day of five in 4th place. Here’s how SEGGER tools are helping to make it possible: ➡️ emWin – Displays vehicle status information directly in the cockpit. ➡️ embOS-Ultra – Reduces firmware energy consumption by more than 90 percent while improving response times. ➡️ SystemView – Provides real-time performance monitoring and optimization. ➡️ J-Link – Ensures smooth debugging and programming throughout development. It’s always inspiring for us to see how our tools are applied in such a high-performance, real-world environment. Let’s cheer them on as they race toward the finish line! 🏁

Yesterday, our CEO, Hendrik Sawukajtis and our Head of Marketing, Danny Sandmann, had the pleasure of meeting Belinda Lucero and Kazunori Nakano from the SD Association at gamescom in Cologne. The SD Association brings together nearly 800 companies to set interoperable SD standards that power the devices we use every day—from smartphones and tablets to drones, IoT systems, automotive applications, and beyond. With over 80% of the memory card market, SD technology continues to set the benchmark for reliability and ease of use. We had exciting discussions on upcoming projects and partnerships and are proud to be part of this global ecosystem and contribute to it. We look forward to seeing fellow members again at the SDA Fall General Assembly in Porto in October!

In high-volume production lines, programming tasks often need to run under tight cycle times. Reliable remote control of programming equipment is essential to keep processes efficient and scalable. The SEGGER Flasher Hub addresses this need with its integrated ASCII terminal interface. Through this interface, each ASCII command is acknowledged and executed by the Hub, which then returns an ASCII reply message. The following article shows you how to: - Set up an ASCII terminal connection - Format a command - Use the commands which are supported by the current version of the Flasher Hub firmware ➡️ https://lnkd.in/etmCSryj
