Prime Intersect Team Pushing the boundaries Precision in Action: Shortest HDD Intersect Yet! Successful HDD Intersect in France – Our Shortest Intersect Thus Far Prime Horizontal recently completed a challenging and record-breaking intersect in Castelsarrasin, France. Using an intersect method, we drilled a 196.38m crossing at a depth of 16m under two railway tracks. The bore featured a 15° entry and exit angle with a straight alignment, utilizing jetting in clay ground conditions. A 250mm HDPE sleeve housed a 160mm HDPE product pipe for gas transport. Due to ground conditions, an intersect was mandatory, and casings were installed on both sides (30m entry, 24m exit) to bypass a gravel layer. With only 35m of straight section under the tracks to execute the intersect, this marks our shortest intersect to date—precision was critical, and the team delivered flawlessly. #PrimeHorizontal #TheOriginalIntersectCompany #HDD #InnovationAndExperience Catalana de Perforacions Teréga

¡Muy satisfecho de los resultados obtenidos en el sondeo RB2! ICL Iberia ha realizado con éxito la perforación de un sondeo, con recuperación continua de testigo, en diámetro HQ, alcanzando la profundidad prevista de 900 m. (sí, sí, 900 m de profundidad!!), en el municipio de Balsareny (Barcelona). El objetivo del sondeo era la investigación geotécnica e hidrogeológica del terreno donde se prevé ejecutar la perforación de un pozo de ventilación, mediante la técnica Raise Boring, para la mina de sal y potasa de Súria (Mina Cabanasses). La perforación fue llevada a cabo, por la empresa Catalana de Perforacions, que también realizó ensayos de permeabilidad profundos, tipo Lugeon. La dirección de obra, testificación geotécnica y ensayos hidrogeológicos estuvo a cargo de SYSTRA Subterra, y la testificación geofísica del sondeo la realizó la empresa GEM- Geociencias y Exploraciones Marítimas. Quiero agradecer a todos los equipos involucrados por su dedicación y profesionalismo. El sondeo es un gran paso adelante para nuestro proyecto del pozo de ventilación y un testimonio del excelente trabajo colaborativo.

📣 Tarn-et-Garonne : Mission complete !!! Proud to announce the successful completion of the final 3 HDD crossings for Teréga’s 23km network extension in the Tarn-et-Garonne region of southwestern France. From feasibility studies to construction, OPTIMUM engineers have accompanied project owner Teréga at every step of the way since 2019. These last 3 horizontal directional drills again passed under key infrastructure, the deep surface alluvium requiring entry casings for each : 🔸Under the river Tarn : a 420-metre-long HDD, housing a DN 80 steel pipe, drilling 18m under the riverbed. 🔸Under rail and canal: a 425-metre-long HDD, housing a DN 200 steel pipe, passing 23m below the Bordeaux – Toulouse – Sète railway line as well as the Canal de la Garonne. 🔸Under rail : a 190-metre-long HDD intersect further down the line, to house a DN 250 HDPE pipe, 16m under the tracks. A dedicated team of OPTIMUM engineers followed these critical sections, where continuous monitoring of the railway platform, as well as weekly piezometrical surveys were conducted to ensure the integrity of the drilling works. A great project to work on ! Thank you to Teréga for the opportunity to be part of another key project to expand the region’s energy network.
