As AI continues to scale at speed, the infrastructure behind it is starting to reshape global energy demand. A recent International Energy Agency (IEA) report forecasts that electricity use from data centres will nearly triple by 2030, and renewables are expected to meet almost half of that additional demand. Wind and solar, in particular, are set to become the backbone of data centre energy supply over the next decade. The report highlights that renewable electricity generation for data centres is projected to grow by 22% each year between now and 2030 – a clear indicator of where the energy transition is gathering momentum. At Exus, we’re already enabling this shift. Our 10-year PPA with Google for the Cascante wind farm in Spain is a strong example of how long-term partnerships can deliver clean, reliable electricity to support the growth of global technology businesses. If AI is to continue accelerating at this pace, the renewables and tech sectors must continue to build close, collaborative relationships. We are pleased to announce the successful close of financing for our 130MW Cibele solar farm in Portugal, with the support of MUFG EMEA. Spanning 300 hectares and capable of powering around 69,000 Portuguese households annually, Cibele represents a major step forward in our mission to accelerate clean energy deployment across Europe. This marks our first project financing as a NextGen Energy Solutions provider in Portugal, following successful transactions in Spain and Poland. The financing of this deal supports our strategy to expand our renewable energy footprint in Iberia and our wider target of becoming a NextGen Energy Solutions provider across Europe. We’re proud to play a role in supporting Portugal’s renewable energy targets and strengthening energy independence through disciplined, high-quality development! This week, our colleagues María Migallón, Communications Specialist and Delia Fuente Pascual, Strategy and Markets Associate, joined industry leaders at the Future Energy Summit Iberia, a standout event focused on Spain’s role in the energy transition. One key takeaway was clear: April’s blackout has been seen as a turning point for the Iberian energy sector. It served as a wake-up call, underlining the need to strengthen energy security, with a renewed focus on energy storage as the catalyst for accelerating the renewable transition. Storage was positioned not just as an add-on, but as essential for the future of renewables, delivering the stability and reliability needed to make clean energy dependable. Whether deployed in hybrid or standalone configurations, storage is now central to the region’s energy strategy. These conversations confirmed what Exus already believes: we’re on the right path. At Exus, we’re proud to be at the forefront of energy storage development, with a growing portfolio of over 700 MW of storage projects across Europe. #FutureEnergySummit #BESS #EnergyStorage #Renewables

🌬️ Reflecting on #GlobalWindDay — Our Wind Energy Journey 15th June was Global Wind Day, a moment to reflect on the role wind power plays in shaping a low-carbon future. At Exus Renewables, wind has always been a central part of that journey. From our start in 2014 to our current portfolio of over 1.2 GW of wind assets in Europe, we’ve seen how this technology can both accelerate decarbonisation while delivering local value, from job creation to regional economic growth. Across Europe, our teams continue to optimise technical performance and deliver long-term value for asset owners and communities alike. As the EU targets 35% wind-powered electricity by 2030, we’re focused on doing what we do best: applying deep technical and financial expertise to build and manage renewable energy systems that are smart, scalable, and built to last. Wind is more than just a part of our portfolio, it’s core to our identity as a NextGen Energy Solutions Provider. #WindEnergy #EnergyTransition #Renewables

What is a wind farm like? How does the energy generation process work? Our colleagues from the Madrid team were excited to visit the Cascante wind farm in Navarra to see how months of hard work have materialised in the construction and commissioning of our first owned asset in Spain. The wind farm is already up and running, with an installed capacity of 51.2 MW , eight 6.4 MW wind turbines each, and an annual generation capacity of 145 GWh - 70% of which will be sold through a PPA to tech giant Google. This is a major milestone that will allow us to reduce 17,400 tons of CO₂ per year! 🎥 In this video, Antonio García Sampé, Project Manager at Exus, walks us through the wind farm and shares insights into how it operates and the technology behind it. https://lnkd.in/ekPrMMem #WindEnergy #CleanEnergy #EnergyTransition #Renewables
