David Harvey (LLB; MJur; PhD) is an Acting Warranted District Court. Following his retirement from the full-time District Court Bench in July 2016 he became Director of the New Zealand Centre for ICT Law at the Faculty of Law, University of Auckland.
He has taught Law and Information Technology at the Law School for the last 17 years. He has written the leading text on Internet Law in New Zealand “internet.law.nz – Selected Issues” published by LexisNexis and now in its 4th edition. Other publications include “The Law Emprynted and Englysshed: The printing press as an agent of change in law and legal culture" and "Collisions in the Digital Paradigm:Law and Rulemaking in the Internet Age."
