Overview

Our client is a specialist in Data Centre Construction, offering complete turnkey solutions across Europe. With headquarters in Dublin and a strong focus on engineering excellence, they’ve established themselves as a top-tier, reliable partner in the industry. The company currently has several major Data Centre builds underway across Europe, totaling over 500 MW of IT load capacity.

They are now looking to hire a skilled and experienced Mechanical Lead to join their on-site project team in Helsinki, Finland.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and lead a team of mechanical engineers on site
• Recommend design modifications to enhance cost-effectiveness, construction efficiency, and overall quality
• Maintain a strong commercial awareness throughout project execution
• Supervise construction works to ensure high standards of materials and workmanship
• Collaborate closely with the contracts manager, site engineers, and other project leads to provide subcontractors with timely and accurate technical information
• Review technical drawings and specifications, and flag discrepancies to the design team promptly
• Define project staffing needs and provide leadership and motivation to the mechanical team
• Ensure adherence to top-tier health and safety standards across all activities

Candidate Profile

• Demonstrated ability to lead MEP teams on complex construction projects
• Prior hands-on experience with mechanical systems in data centre environments
• Strong organizational skills with a solid grasp of project planning, sequencing, and scheduling
• Excellent communication abilities, capable of liaising effectively with multiple stakeholders
• In-depth understanding of procurement processes within large-scale engineering projects
• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field
• Committed to delivering projects with a high standard of safety, quality, and efficiency
