Warm thanks to our speakers, panelists and guests for making our inaugural GP Liquidity Seminar hosted by W Capital Partners and our parent company, AXA IM, part of BNP Paribas, a big success.    We hosted 45 senior members of the leading global private equity firms who joined us to discuss the macro trends driving the exceptional growth in the GP Solutions secondaries market and to learn more about the latest innovations and deal structures in direct secondary and continuation vehicle transactions.    We want to thank the partners of W Capital for helping lead the discussion and our LP panelists: Jean-Baptiste Tricot from AXA Group, Aizaz Ali from CalSTRS, Michael Dymond from APG AM and Chris Robinson, CFA from Proskauer, moderated by Peter Ischebeck the global head of private equity for #AXAIMPrime, for providing candid perspectives on how GPs should think about using a broader range of secondaries to drive performance and liquidity in their portfolios.    A few key takeaways:  -The PE industry has grown to 29,000 assets with 1,500 exits per year leaving a 20-year overhang of assets relative to exits.  Due to longer holding periods, the average 6-year-old buyout fund today has limited remaining callable capital to support these larger unrealized portfolios.  -The GP Solutions secondary market which includes direct secondaries and continuation vehicles is here to stay and has become a critical element of active and prudent PE portfolio management. -LPs expect managers to accelerate exits and liquidity, so that they can pilot their allocations -GPs should explore a wider range of liquidity solutions beyond continuation vehicles, especially when no fund duration issues exist -Direct secondaries in the form of minority recaps, private IPOs, direct share purchases, co-investor liquidity or mid-life growth capital can deliver win-win capital solutions for GPs seeking liquidity and future value creation. We are pleased to announce an equity investment, through AXA IM Alts’ natural capital and impact investments strategy, in US Nature-Based Solutions Company, Pantheon Regeneration PBC, focusing on the restoration of Pocosin peatlands through carbon credit projects, as well as the financing of Pantheon's first project, Pocosin Ecological Reserve I (PER I). The project aims to rewet peatlands that were historically drained on a 14,500 acre site in the Southeastern United States. When unnaturally drained, carbon-rich peatlands emit significant volumes of CO2 daily and are highly flammable, making them particularly susceptible to wildfires. These fires not only impact surrounding ecosystems but also accelerate the release of stored carbon into the atmosphere. The investment into Pantheon Regeneration PBC and its first Project PER I represents an opportunity to directly support land use emissions reduction and habitat restoration.
