On August 4th, METLEN Energy & Metals officially began trading on the London Stock Exchange, completing the transfer of its primary listing from Athens to the UK. This strategic move marks a significant milestone for both the company and the London market. ✅ The response was immediate, with the share price rising by more than 15% in the first weeks of trading, bringing the company's valuation to over €7.5 billion. Institutional investors have expressed significant interest, with Morgan Stanley and BofA estimating that METLEN's value could exceed €12 billion in the coming years. The company already meets the criteria for inclusion in the FTSE 100 with a horizon of autumn 2025. It is important to note that the decision to list in London was not simply a change of venue. It reflects METLEN’s international orientation and its transformation from a family-run business into a fully integrated energy and metals company. 🗣️ As Chairman and CEO Evangelos Mytilineos stated: “London remains Europe’s leading financial hub – and we are proud to be part of its resurgence as one of the continent’s major energy and industrial players.” METLEN's move was not merely a stock market change; it was a strategic decision that will strengthen the company's recognition, credibility, and international growth.

METLEN Energy & Metals has been a key player in the UK’s energy transition for over a decade, delivering more than 85 projects with a total contract value of €2.5 billion. From solar energy and its storage to thermal power and grid infrastructure, METLEN is actively shaping a low-carbon future across the country. In solar, our UK portfolio reaches 1.8 GW, led by Cleve Hill in Kent — currently the UK’s largest operational solar park. In the grid and offshore wind space, we are delivering critical infrastructure such as the Eastern Green Link 1, with two HVDC converter stations, helping to transmit up to 2 GW of renewable power to over two million homes. We are also developing three 299 MW OCGT thermal plants, supporting flexible generation capacity across key sites in England and Wales. With 1.3 GWh of energy storage projects, METLEN is considered one of the most trusted partners in the UK for engineering and constructing battery systems. In addition, we are supporting grid stability with the installation of a Synchronous Condenser in Pembrokeshire and delivering one of the UK’s major energy-from-waste facilities — the Protos Energy Recovery Facility in Cheshire. Across every sector, METLEN continues to deliver high-impact energy infrastructure, powering the UK’s energy transition to a sustainable future.

The Eastern Green Link 1 (EGL1) project is a two-gigawatt subsea high voltage direct current electrical connection between Torness in East Lothian and Hawthorn Pit in County Durham. EGL1 will scale up the UK’s capacity to transport home-produced clean energy from where it is generated to where it is needed. METLEN is proud to be part of this SP Energy Networks and National Grid Electricity Transmission joint venture project. The company will construct two high voltage direct current (HVDC) convertor stations, one in Murton, County Durham, England (including a 400 kV AC cable connection to the National Grid substation) and the other in Torness, East Lothian, Scotland.
