About us

WorldSkills Hong Kong is keen on driving excellence in skills and promoting Vocational and Professional Education and Training through skills competitions and events. Jointly organised by the Vocational Training Council (VTC), the Construction Industry Council (CIC) and the Clothing Industry Training Authority (CITA), the WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition is a local skills event which provides a platform for young professionals to challenge themselves against professional standards and skills. Outstanding competitors may be given intensive training and chosen as representatives of Hong Kong in the WorldSkills Competition. The WorldSkills Competition, also hailed as the "Skills Olympics", organised every two years by the WorldSkills International (WSI), is the biggest vocational education and skills excellence event in the world with an aim to showcase the best in skills, uplift professional skills standards, and to raise the awareness and status of vocational educational and skills training across the world. Hong Kong, China has become a member of the WorldSkills International and participated in the WorldSkills Competition since 1997. Since first participating in 1997, the Hong Kong Team has achieved stellar results, attesting to the world-class standard of Hong Kong competitors.

  • 🌟 Celebrating Excellence at the WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition 2025 Prize Presentation Ceremony! 🌟   We are thrilled to announce that the Prize Presentation Ceremony was held to honour the outstanding achievements of the winners of the WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition 2025. This event marked a significant milestone as these talented individuals prepare for their next journey to WorldSkills Shanghai 2026.   During the ceremony, winners were presented with medals by our esteemed guests, including Mr Francis Hourant, WorldSkills International President and Chair of the Board, Mr David Hoey, Chief Executive Officer of WorldSkills International, and Dr Roy Chung, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Youth Skills, along with Honorary Advisors of the Standing Committee, VTC Executive Director, CIC Executive Director, CITA Executive Director, and EMSD Acting Director.   The presence of experts and the families of the winners added to the joy of the occasion, as we collectively celebrated their hard work and dedication.   • Last Friday, the Skills Competitions Office and the Education Bureau jointly ogranised an insightful webinar to introduce Life-wide Learning and the WorldSkills Competition to over 100 secondary school teachers. Experts in Autonomous Mobile Robotics and Jewellery were invited to present their respective skills trades and relevant VPET programmes. We were honored to have Sammy, the Hong Kong’s competitor in Jewellery for WorldSkills Lyon 2024, and Charlie, a winner of the WorldSkills Hong Kong Competition 2023, sharing their challenges, breakthroughs, and key takeaways during competitions.
