The EU has introduced a significant new “Best Efforts” obligation for EU companies, individuals, and entities that own or control non-EU subsidiaries. Under this rule, EU Operators must take all suitable and necessary actions to prevent their non-EU entities from undermining the EU sanctions against Russia and Belarus.
