🌿 Driving Innovation in Carbon Capture at IPI DTU 🌿 Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are advanced porous materials designed for efficient CO₂ capture in industrial applications. Composed of metal ions and organic linkers, MOFs offer exceptional surface areas and tunable pore sizes, allowing selective adsorption of CO₂ even at low concentrations. Functionalizing MOFs with amine groups further enhances their CO₂ capture capacity, making them ideal for reducing emissions from power plants and refineries. Current research at IPI DTU focuses on improving MOF stability, scalability, and energy-efficient regeneration methods for real-world deployment. 🚀 From classrooms to cutting-edge industries – we stepped into the world of polymers and polyurethanes through an enriching industrial visit to a masterbatch industry and a polyurethane industry. This visit was designed to bridge theoretical learning with practical exposure, giving us a firsthand understanding of how raw materials are transformed into advanced products that power multiple sectors. By engaging directly with modern processing equipment and interacting with industry leaders, we gained valuable insights into both the technical processes and the professional pathways that define today’s industrial ecosystem. We explored Rang Mahal Masterbatch Factory and ASSA Industries’ Polyurethane Plant, where we got hands-on exposure to advanced equipment such as extruders, pelletizers, and color testing systems. The visit also helped us clearly understand the practical aspects of processes studied in the theory of Mechanical Operations, bringing classroom concepts to life. Interactive sessions further deepened our understanding of polyurethane processing, applications, and career opportunities. We sincerely thank Prof. Roli Purwar for her constant guidance and support in making this visit possible.
