The Government of Maharashtra successfully conducted the State-Level Consultation under Dr Anup Yadava IAS, Secretary, Women and Child Development, Government of Maharashtra, in the presence of Shri Kailash Pagare, Commissioner, ICDS, Government of Maharashtra. The consultation brought together a powerful coalition of voices: ECCE experts, Women and Child Development officers, SCERT, CSO representatives, and officials from the Tribal/Adivasi and Social Justice departments. We were honoured to be a part of this initiative. The discussions centred on what it will take to reimagine Early Childhood Care and Education for the next generation. For eg, deeper engagement with parents and Anganwadi workers, formalising training and strengthening nutrition, reviewing learning outcomes with a focus on impact, etc were discussed.
