From Tester to Transformer: My Journey in Quality Engineering

I didn’t start with AI or automation.

I started with curiosity.

More than 20 years ago, I entered the world of software testing with a straightforward belief:

Testing isn’t just about finding bugs.

It’s about delivering software that people can trust.

That belief has shaped every project I’ve worked on and every team I’ve led.

Over the years, I’ve helped global enterprises move faster, reduce defects, and confidently release.

I created platforms like QE 360, Frameium, and Thumba.

These weren’t just tools. They were solutions—designed to remove confusion, improve release speed, and make quality more visible.

My journey has taken me deep into:

Test automation across UI, API, and mobile

Performance testing that fits seamlessly into CI/CD pipelines

Building strong frameworks that balance speed and stability

Test data management using synthetic data for safe, reliable testing environments

But quality engineering is not just about code.

It’s also about clear communication and innovative strategy.

I’ve written hundreds of RFPs, capability decks, blogs, and whitepapers to help QA teams speak the language of business.

From using AI to review user stories to writing technical content that simplifies complex ideas, I focus on making testing work easy to understand and valuable to the entire team.

Test Efficiency helps calculate how many defects were leaked to the customer as compared to number of defects reported by the testing team. Generally almost 10-15 percent of defects will be leaked and is considered acceptable. Recently, companies have started spending huge amounts of money for developing quality. Due to this, the defect leakage percentage has come down to less than 10 percent.
