To open an eventful day at the Stockholms Handelskammare annual Nordic Summit, Unleashed, Brunswick welcomed a select group of C-suite leaders for an intimate breakfast. The discussion focused on how business leaders can maintain clarity and cohesion in today’s increasingly fragmented workplace. During the session, Mohamed Younis, Brunswick’s Global Head of Research & Insights, shared findings from Brunswick’s latest proprietary research “Leading with Positivity”, highlighting the diverging outlooks between senior executives and the employee base on the future of work, optimism, and risk in the Nordics. Our Stockholm colleagues Peter Lindell, Oscar Karlsson, Viktoria Aastrup and Hedda Hedlund attended the summit – a gathering of top decision-makers, innovators, and changemakers from around the Nordics. Conversations during the day centred on geopolitics, resilience, democracy, competitiveness, and identity.

“I tend to get most excited when I see our leaders and teams exhibit pride in what they have done.” Since becoming CEO during the pandemic, John Stankey has quietly led one of corporate America’s more remarkable reinventions – financially, operationally, and technologically transforming AT&T while overcoming numerous challenges. In our latest Brunswick Review interview, partners Ash Spiegelberg and Matthew Levine dig into the story behind this transformation and the occasionally unconventional leadership style at the helm of it. Brunswick Partners Claire Thomas-Daoulas, Nicolas Bouvier and Senior Advisors John Davies and Paul Csiszár attended the 3rd edition of the FDI Control Forum in Paris and engaged in various panel discussions. The one-day event was a great opportunity to connect with many practitioners on the latest issues regarding foreign direct investment control and share Brunswick’s insights in advising clients on related high-stakes issues. On this occasion, our expert speakers highlighted the importance of approaching FDI issues through the lens of industrial policy, while also considering the broader concepts of economic sovereignty and autonomy. Many thanks to the organizers, panellists and audience for making this event a success! #FDIControlForum #FDI #ForeignDirectInvestment #InvestmentControl

How can Europe maintain its competitive edge in the life sciences sector in a rapidly evolving global landscape? If you ask former WTO Director General and Senior Advisor at Brunswick Group, Pascal Lamy, he has a clear answer: “As Europeans, we must become better orchestrated. This depends on how effectively our industries organize —or disorganize— before governments and the European Commission to clearly articulate what they need.” Those were his words at yesterday’s dynamic panel discussion on The Future of European Life Sciences, moderated by Brunswick’s Dr. Agnes Brandt (Director, Brussels). With a lively breakfast crowd at The Nine Brussels, the discussion tackled some of the most pressing questions facing the sector today. Our expert panel, featuring Annamaria Mangiaracina (Partner at Linklaters), Claire Skentelbery (Director General at EuropaBio), and Christian Clarus (Director of Global Government Affairs at B. Braun Group), in addition to Brunswick’s leading regional experts Yi Zhou Yi (Partner, Hong Kong), Tanisha Carino (Partner, Washington D.C.) and Francesca Scassellati Sforzolini (Partner and Global Healthcare and Life Sciences Co-Lead, Brussels), offered diverse perspectives on regulatory frameworks, innovation incentives and the strategic importance of biotech sovereignty. In this spirit, thanks to all who joined us. We’re already looking forward to the next one.

We were thrilled to participate in the Rock Center for Corporate Governance at Stanford University's 30th Annual Stanford Directors' College last week. Directors’ College brings together leading CEOs, directors, regulators, jurists, and scholars for a rigorous and balanced examination of corporate governance, strategy, and the evolving role of the modern public company board of directors. Our partners, Courtney Chiang Dorman participated in a lively panel discussion exploring Corporate Responses to DEI-Related Regulatory and Policy Changes and Ash Spiegelberg discussed Crisis Anticipation and Management and Tanisha Carino and Sue Bettman were able to supplement their deep understanding of boards by hearing from experts and learning from the many new friends we met.
