ReCap 2026 combines Scan to BIM with clash detection. Here’s what that means for your next project: Last year, Autodesk acquired PointFuse IP - technology that automatically turns point cloud data into BIM. Now ReCap Pro 2026 brings Scan to BIM to the Autodesk ecosystem with: 1️⃣ Point Cloud Segmentation: Auto classify and segment elements in a scan. 2️⃣ Scan to Mesh: Convert each classified segment into an intelligent mesh. 3️⃣ Native Export: Export segmented meshes to Revit and Navisworks files. The new ReCap Revit plugin brings meshed geometry directly into models as native Revit families. Need to coordinate with point clouds? NWC exports can be used to clash test models against real-world conditions in Navisworks or on ACC. Segmentation lets you control which elements to include in tests, revealing clearer, more actionable clashes. Because these point cloud elements behave like any other model object, on ACC you can: → Link them to documents, photos, issues and forms. → Run asset based workflows like site inspections. → Generate quantity take offs without redrawing existing conditions. As the classification accuracy improves I’m excited to see the new BIM workflows it enables. This is such an exciting development, thanks for the great summary! 👏
Why has this taken so long? My scanning nerd friends tell me Revizto and Cintoo were all doing this 3-4 years ago. Check out the date on this post… https://www.linkedin.com/posts/brett-settles_point-cloud-clashing-is-maturing-quickly-activity-6857015151019778048-J4lQ?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_ios&rcm=ACoAAAJZZq8BaHcHdATL-Kg2vmicbxhOIX52VRY
Lukas Stampfer & Konrad Dostal take a look in this solutions, exactly what I mentioned one and half years ago, 3d scanning plus bim are game changers in aec industry. can't wait to prove it for us soon. (Gaugl Johann / Marco / Thomas)
10 years ago i had to use Navisworks to check clash between point cloud and design model. It was the nightmare.
Does this require tokens to access ?
Amazing It is going to save us a lot of time.
it's amazing. Thanks for the great summary. 👍
Looks great. I need to test it. Thank you 😇
The next 10 years are going to be wild
I love the development of such an app - but I’m also afraid of being locked in ACC with high fees. I know Forma is becoming a universal platform for new applications to plug in to - is ACC aiming for the similar thing?
