As our in-house Creative Senior Manager, you lead the development and execution of visual brand identity, creative strategy, and campaign concepts across a dynamic portfolio of cannabis brands. You bring a strong strategic mindset, deep curiosity, and a natural ability to generate creative ideas that solve brand opportunities and connect authentically with consumers. You combine expert-level design skills with innovative thinking to shape compelling visual storytelling across packaging, campaigns, digital, and trade channels. In this role, you manage and inspire a team of designers and content creators, translating marketing objectives into cohesive, forward-thinking creative work that elevates each brand while remaining compliant with cannabis industry regulations. You champion creative excellence, ensure brand consistency, and foster cross-functional collaboration to bring innovative, consumer-centered ideas to life at every touchpoint.
Essential Functions
Brand Development & Visual Identity
- Lead the creation and evolution of visual brand identities and brand guidelines
- Translate business and marketing goals into strategic, purpose-driven creative solutions
- Define and direct visual storytelling for campaigns, content, packaging, and brand communications
- Push creative boundaries while ensuring alignment with cannabis promotional regulations
- Collaborate closely with the brand management and creative teams to maintain and elevate our brands in market
- Manage the creative development process across the portfolio
- Work with brand managers and creative team to interpret briefs into compelling, original concepts
- Lead ideation and creative exploration with internal designers and copywriters
- Present creative concepts, gather feedback, and drive refinements through to execution
- Provide creative direction and oversee graphic design output across all channels, providing hands-on support as needed
- Assets include print and digital materials such as posters, signage, email marketing, merchandising displays, social content, video content, email visuals, web graphics, packaging, goods, apparel, event/activation designs and presentations, etc.
- Direct internal and external creative production, including photo, video, motion, and animation
- Collaborate with production vendors to bring creative concepts to life across formats
- Review and approve final assets, serving as gatekeeper for visual quality and consistency
- Partner with product, brand, and packaging teams to develop innovative packaging systems
- Ensure packaging designs reflect both brand aesthetics and regulatory compliance

YOUR STORY
Your Experience
We already know you love working in brand development and innovation, but we want to know more about your strengths. You’re good at the following:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications or related field.
- 7-10+ years of related work experience, including leadership
- Robust knowledge and proficiency with the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Lightroom, Premium Pro, After Effects) and MS PowerPoint
- Basic photography and videography experience are considered an asset
- Experience in the Cannabis industry or the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is considered an asset
- Experience in UX design is considered an asset
- Exceptional conceptual thinking and ability to adapt across various brand styles, voices, channels and audiences
- Understands how to use visual language to communicate brand values, product benefits and generate consumer connection
- Ability to turn abstract ideas into concrete visual concepts that drive engagement and deliver business impact
- Strong instinct for building, maintaining and evolving visual brand identity
- Demonstrates fluency in both design trends and brand fundamentals
- Brings strategic and aesthetic judgement to every creative decision, balancing innovation with brand alignment
- Ability to lead a team of creative contributors to create focused, high-quality assets
- Deep understanding of design principles and techniques including layout, composition, typography, and colour theory
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret feedback effectively
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate cross-functionally
- Must have the ability to obtain and pass a RCMP Criminal Record Check and maintain security clearance.
