Two Sisvel representatives spoke at a recent intensive course on #licensing as a business tool for enterprises, organised by LES Italia and supported by Confindustria Servizi Innovativi e Tecnologici, which took place in Rome on December 4–5, 2025. Valentina Piola, PMP® and Patrizia La Rosa, PMP® La Rosa provided an insightful contribution on the key role patent pools play in the licensing of SEPs. They presented case studies of our DVB-T2 as a one-stop shop for innovation and of Sisvel’s Cellular IoT programme as an example of a pool with multiple patent owners. We are also pleased to say that Valentina has recently been re-elected to the LES Italia Executive Committee. Over the two days of the event, multiple expert speakers, participants gained detailed understanding of strategic decision-making, contract negotiation, and the effective management of licensing patents, know-how, trademarks, designs and copyrights. Key discussions focused on artificial intelligence (AI), fostering a sustainable licensing ecosystem, and the institutional view of IP as a lever for growth and competitiveness. #ProprietàIntellettuale #LicensingStrategy #BusinessStrategy #TechTransfer #PatentPool

The future of European #SEP licensing policy is up in the air following last week’s decision by MEPs to take legal action against the Commission over the withdrawal of the SEP Regulation. Whatever happens next, writes Sisvel President and CEO Mattia Fogliacco in an article published on our website today, Sisvel’s message to European policy makers is a simple one: talk to us, please. Sisvel is Europe’s largest #patentpool operator and has over 40 years’ experience devising solutions to SEP #licensing challenges that reflect the needs of both licensors and licensees. Very few others possess our level of practical knowledge and insight – especially in Europe. We are a resource sitting on the doorsteps of officials in Brussels and the other European capitals and are happy to answer any questions they have, as well as to explain why our transparent pools can play a key role in securing the balanced European SEP licensing framework that every stakeholder of good faith wants. “An email or a phone call is all that’s required to get the process going,” says Mattia. “Let’s do this.” Full article here: https://lnkd.in/dXMKYzaK #WePowerInnovation

Last week, Sisvel signed up to a World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO initiative through which #SEP owners in the #IoT space pledge to offer #SMEs the opportunity to use confidential mediation to resolve impasses over the licensing of IoT-related SEPs. Four major technology players – Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia and Qualcomm – joined us in doing so. Today on Sisvel Insights, our policy lead Matteo Sabattini, Ph.D., MBA explains why we have made the commitment and what it means for IoT SMEs. “It is extremely unusual for Sisvel to reach a point where it is in active dispute with any potential licensee of our patents, let alone an SME; and we do not expect that to change,” Matteo writes. “Instead, our aim is to afford peace of mind and to make clear to SMEs that should issues ever arise, we are happy to offer a route to resolution that is generally relatively quick and far less expensive and disruptive than the alternatives.” Read the article here: https://lnkd.in/da7VGgvK #WePowerInnovation

We are proud to have joined fellow SEP owners Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia and Qualcomm as a signatory of the World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO Mediation and Arbitration Center's Mediation Pledge to SMEs operating in the IoT sector. The pledge commits Sisvel to offering confidential mediation to SMEs that sell or manufacture IoT devices as a means to resolving impasses over the licensing of the IoT-related SEPs Sisvel owns. This offer applies in all situations in which an SME has not initiated litigation or sought the revocation of the relevant SEPs. Sisvel has already invested heavily in a programme designed to educate SMEs about the importance of SEP licensing and signing this WIPO Mediation and Arbitration Center Pledge is further recognition by us of the important role SMEs have to play in the global development of the IoT. We commend WIPO for this initiative and hope more SEP holders will join us in committing to it. Further details here ... https://lnkd.in/e_f-fABq
