Rap and Public Art
MIT Visiting Scholar Wasalu Jaco (Lupe Fiasco), a Grammy Award-winning rapper, has collaborated with the MIT List Visual Arts Center to create “GHOTIING MIT: Public Art,” a collection of raps inspired by seven of the Institute’s public artworks. Jaco closes out the Institute’s Artfinity festival tonight with a live premiere of the work in concert with the MIT Festival Jazz Ensemble.

In search of clean water, scientists are improving desalination technology // WBUR
Professor Amos Winter discusses his team’s work developing a desalination system that relies on solar power. “The majority of water you find in the ground around the world is salty,” says Winter. “The reason we use solar power is that most people around the world are going to be resource-constrained. They may have lower income levels or not have access to grid electricity. So, our technology makes desalination much more accessible in all areas around the world.”
