Linguist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Linguist to support our language-related initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of linguistics theory and practice, and be capable of analyzing, translating, transcribing, or annotating language data. You will play a key role in enhancing linguistic accuracy and supporting cross-functional teams, including translation, localization, product development, and AI/NLP initiatives.

Duration : 3 months

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct linguistic analysis, including syntax, morphology, semantics, phonetics, and pragmatics.
• Translate and/or review content for accuracy, tone, and cultural relevance.
• Annotate linguistic data for machine learning or NLP systems.
• Collaborate with language engineers, data scientists, and product teams on linguistic projects.
• Develop and maintain linguistic resources such as lexicons, grammars, and style guides.
• Perform quality control of language data and provide feedback to improve linguistic models or content.
• Support localization and transcreation efforts to ensure consistency across regions.
• Conduct research and stay updated on language trends, dialectal differences, and cultural nuances.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Linguistics, Applied Linguistics
• Native Level Proficiency in French language in addition to English.
• Strong understanding of linguistic principles and language structures.
• Experience with linguistic annotation tools or corpus analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot subtle language issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
