What "Queer Destinations" Really Means for Travel? Four months ago, Amstar in the Mexican Caribbean earned the Queer Destinations Committed Distinction—a key step toward a more welcoming travel experience. Our team completed training on LGBTQ+ terminology, history, and thoughtful service, sparking meaningful shifts in how we connect with travelers. We’re already seeing the impact: ✨ More open, respectful conversations among colleagues ✨ A more conscious approach to guest service ✨ A workplace culture grounded in empathy Delivering service that respects and values every individual isn’t optional—it’s essential for creating meaningful experiences. While June brought visibility to LGBTQ+ topics, at Amstar this remains an ongoing commitment. We continue applying this knowledge daily to ensure every traveler feels welcomed and respected to experience the world as they are.

💡What does the future of events look like? We went to St. Louis to find out. Amstar Meetings & Events team recently attended WEC MPI 2025, where the focus was clear: learning, adapting, and staying aligned with what today’s — and tomorrow’s — attendees expect. From the use of AI in event planning to generational engagement and evolving experience trends, the sessions sparked real conversations about where our industry is headed.
