BNM chaired a closed-door roundtable on ‘Developing a Secure and Innovative Digital Asset Ecosystem in Malaysia’ at the recent MyFW2025. The roundtable brought together regulators, financial institutions and regulated digital asset players. We are encouraged that through the dialogue, the stakeholders agreed on several actions to support innovation while ensuring financial stability, integrity and investor protection outcomes: • Synergise: Deepen collaboration across regulators, financial institutions, digital asset players and key actors within the space • Educate and Elevate: Capacity building in compliance, risk management, and technical expertise through ongoing dialogue and knowledge-sharing • Trust: Build mutual confidence through transparency, robust safeguards, and regulatory clarity We would like to thank Securities Commission Malaysia, Labuan Financial Services Authority, The Association of Banks In Malaysia (ABM), Association of Islamic Banking and Financial Institutions Malaysia (AIBIM), the Compliance Officers Networking Group (CONG), and Malaysian Digital Asset Players Association (MDAPA) for their valuable insights.

The Steering Committee of the Joint Ministerial Committee on Private Healthcare Costs convened last week to review the progress of the joint-agency initiatives led by the Ministry of Finance (MOF), Ministry of Health (MOH) and Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM). The meeting was co-chaired by BNM's Technical Adviser Datuk Jessica Chew and the Health Transformation Office (HTO) Chief Executive Officer Dr Yap Wei Aun, and attended by key industry players, including representatives from the Association of Private Hospitals of Malaysia (APHM), Life Insurance Associations of Malaysia (LIAM), Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) and Malaysian Medical Association (MMA). Discussions focused on advancing key initiatives under RESET to enhance price transparency in the private healthcare sector and interoperability of electronic medical records.
