The potential of pulp? We thought you'd never ask.. 👀 Right now, lots of cacao pulp is being discarded. Which isn’t just super wasteful, but also means cocoa farmers are missing out on extra income, while many are stuck living below the poverty line.. That’s where Kumasi Drinks comes in. Together with the Chocolonely Foundation, ETG and Beyond Beans Foundation, they’re opening the first-ever (!!) cacao fruit juice factory in Côte d’Ivoire, which will.. 💵 .. increase the income of 5,000 cocoa farmers 🌍 .. move more of the cocoa value chain to Côte d’Ivoire, where 50% of all cocoa is grown Now that's what we call makin’ JUICY impact. Psst.. while our efforts are focused on changing the cocoa industry from within, we launched the #ChocolonelyFoundation to go beyond the bean – giving back to the communities we depend on to make our chunky chocolate. 🍫 Every year, we contribute 1% of our global revenue to the Foundation, so it can support bold, game-changing initiatives, like this factory. ✅ Curious about the other projects the Foundation supports? Over ons
Tony’s Chocolonely is an impact company that makes chocolate, committed to ending exploitation in cocoa. And not just the cocoa in our chocolate, but in all chocolate worldwide. Tony's Chocolonely was founded in 2005 by 3 journalists from the Dutch TV show ‘Keuringsdienst van Waarde’ after they discovered that the world’s largest chocolate manufacturers were buying cocoa from plantations that used illegal labor. Since then, we've dedicated our efforts to raising awareness of and eliminating inequality in the cocoa industry, becoming the #1 chocolate brand in the Netherlands. With incredibly tasty chocolate, we lead by example and show the world that chocolate can be made differently: in taste, packaging and the way we do business with cocoa farmers. Starting with paying them a higher price. Alone, we’ll end exploitation in our cocoa supply chain, but together we can change the industry across the globe. That's why we invite everyone to join our commitment. 'Cause it's only together that we'll end exploitation in cocoa.

And that both their brand-new chocolate chip cookies will be made using cocoa sourced directly via Tony’s Open Chain, according to Tony’s 5 Sourcing Principles. Psst.. July 1st marks Keti Koti, which means ‘broken chains’. On this day in the Netherlands, Suriname, Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba, we remember the abolition of slavery and honor the freedom that followed. Tony's is an impact company and how we achieve our goals is through creating awareness, leading by example and inspiring action. Transatlantic slavery and exploitation are not the same, but they are deeply connected — and the legacy of that colonial past is still felt today, also in the unequally divided cocoa chain. Therefore, all Tony’s employees in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Sweden have the day off on the 1st of July. In the US, Tony's employees are off on Juneteenth (June 19) and in the UK, they are off on Anti-Slavery Day (October 18). It’s not about taking time off to relax, but about how we can educate and raise awareness on doing better. In the Netherlands, we’ve proudly been one of the first companies - since 2020 - to give a day off and since then we've been campaigning for July 1st to become a national day off, alongside our partners Stichting Nederland Wordt Beter, The Black Archives, Lush Nederland, FunX, DeGoedeZaak, and Zwart Manifest. 🙌 Join our call! https://lnkd.in/eRS7RgGW #tonyschocolonely #ketikoti #juneteenth #1julivrij #emancipationday

Influence was never the goal. Ending exploitation in the cocoa industry was, and still is, our mission. But being named one of TIME100 Most Influential Companies is a powerful reminder that our mission is resonating far beyond the chocolate aisle. At Tony’s, we aim to raise awareness, lead by example, and inspire others to act. This recognition isn’t just a celebration of what we’ve achieved, it’s a call to keep pushing for change across the cocoa industry. We’re proud to prove that making delicious, damn tasty chocolate and running a responsible business can go hand in hand. And we’re even prouder to be part of a growing movement with over 20 Mission Allies across the globe that shows fairness, transparency, and humanity should be at the heart of every supply chain. Huge thanks to our incredible team and our partners for making this possible. And to TIME, for recognizing that influence is most powerful when it’s used to make things better. Let. Them. Play. 🚨 1.5 million (!!) children in cocoa-growing families in Ghana + Côte d’Ivoire are stuck in child labor.. That’s 1 in every 2 children. All ’cause their parents are majorly underpaid for their cocoa. Well, screw that. At Tony’s, we don’t just know the farmers in our supply chain – but their families, too. And because of these strong relationships + the higher price we pay for cocoa, we’re able to work together to make sure the 50,000 children connected to our supply chain can play, go to school and dream BIG. And this is just the beginning – because we won’t stop until we end child labor on every single cocoa farm. Bar by bar, bite by bite. Are you in? 🤝 #WorldDayAgainstChildLabor #letthemplay #endchildlabor #TonysChocolonely #chocolate
