If you need a helping hand, in a sea of new potential Just close your eyes and breathe, drop your dependencies And turn your face towards the rising sun If you need to understand, then The Needs are gonna help ya If you forgive yourself and take another step This story isn't written, it's just at the beginning Loving, trusting, making sense of living, having someone else to Share the sunlight while you can and try to be, try to be better than Loving, trusting, being who you need to be to have the strength to get in the car and drive away and chase the sunset find a way to stay It's Saturday night and I'm hearing all the cheering from the crowd What's it gonna prove? When I know your heart is singing to a different tune On the rocks again, in my thoughts you sang until the end in a voice like light When I'm lost in the sound that I found and I don't know it, I don't know it I feel it and I know, I know I'm falling through you I hear it and I know that the music is too Play another for a lover, spin it 'til you know it's true I feel it and I know, I know I'm falling through you Do do do ♫ another long gone love song I feel it and I know, I know I'm falling 'cos you're falling too I told 'em I got nothin' to lose aAs months turn into years turn into ways I've grown apart from you But I need it from you just a reason or two, you told me yeah, hold me We owe it to ourselves to stand up, to laugh and cry to try to give a damn On the rocks again, in my dreams we dance until the end. I feel it and I know, I know I'm falling through you Do do do ♫ another long gone love song I hear it and I know, I know the music is too Play another for a lover, spin it 'til you know it's true Take your heart and lock it in a cage, 'til this beat's got nothing left to say High on the glory, hide from the grace In a world of silence there's a secret place Where the sheets are white and the notes are alive It's a miracle but there's only one way to go If you need to understand, then The Needs are gonna help ya Your story isn't written, it's just at the beginning If you're wishing it was never too late, to rewind and try to find an escape You and me well we got all that we need A little magic and the strength to believe I feel it and I know, I know I'm falling through you I feel it and I know, I know I'm falling 'cos you're falling too I feel it and I know, I know I'm falling through you Do do do another long gone love song I hear it and I know, I know the music is too Play another for a lover, spin it 'til you know it's true High on the glory, hide from the grace In a world of silence there's a secret place Where the sheets are white and the notes are alive It's a miracle but there's only one way to go I feel it and I know. I hear it and I know The sun is setting on the life we knew, for me and you Take your heart and lock it in a cage. This beat's got nothing left to say

I took a chance on you, when I put my trust in emotion Always bound for pain or pleasure, yeah I drove a stake into, my fears, the years, the vanity For the high, of a summer Sunday kiss goodbye Nowhere to hide, feelin' is right, yeah. Is that gonna work for you? Work for you, work for you Takin' the night, through the excitement, help me find a way out from inside Let's go I see a light in you, that wants to burn like a fire Always bound for pain or pleasure, yeah And when I leave with you, you better know it's 'cos I want to Gotta fly, 'cos the August moon is waxing high Now we're alive, pushin' tonight yeah, ridin' to Kabukicho 'Bukicho, 'Bukicho Takin' the night, through the excitement But for the river running on and on and Gimme what you got, all you got baby Take it from the top, show me one-eighty Baby I'm trying to find, maybe I'm trying to find What I wanna say to you Heaven's trying to find me Gimme what you got, all you got baby Take it from the top, show me one-eighty Baby I'm trying to find, maybe I'm trying to find River running on and on and Gimme what you got. Tell me what you want Show me how to stay. Well how long you got? From the alpha point, to the time beyond When omega comes, I'll be at the front Water flowing from the place where I display, all of my selfish games My God I need it over and over and nothing's gonna break my heart attack I took a chance on you, when I put my trust in emotion And when I leave with you, you better know it's 'cos I want to, 'cos I want to Die for what I, die for what I need Gimme what you got, all you got baby Take it from the top, show me one-eighty Baby I'm trying to find, maybe I'm trying to find What I wanna say to you Heaven's trying to find me Gimme what you got, all you got baby Take it from the top, show me one-eighty I gotta go, I gotta go, I gotta leave it all behind River running on and on and Alpha point, Omega's joint Gimme what you got, all you got baby Take it from the top, show me one-eighty Baby I'm trying to find, maybe I'm trying to find Oh my God I need it, gotta show me your one-eighty now I see a light in you, that wants to burn like a fire Like a fire burning hot, like a fire burning hot I drove a stake into, my fears, the years, the vanity When omega comes, I'll be at the front

I gotta let go, of gravitation oh I gotta let go, everything is weighing down my soul When I see it in a violet dawn, you know I gotta let go Never thought, I could find endless summer oh When we laughed in our way, we were untouchable But I think there's something out there, I feel it on the way And I'm calling, falling through the telescope Bye bye baby, bye bye baby And when I see it, I say it's just another phase Then when I pull I, I feel you pull the other way But I think there's something out there I figured out the way I know it's you Uh oh I know, that the stars are far away Twilight damn right, a galaxy in flames No! The night turns into day but I won't let you go 'Cos I'm afraid of spending all my days alone No! With nothing in the way, I see you from the shore Get away, get away and away to the heart of the moon A satellite in the sky, searching for a truth The radio is alive, playing songs to you When I was a, when I was a A reason just to stay alive I gotta let go of gravitation oh I gotta let go when I see my baby gazing home I can't reach you! Why can't I reach you? I just can't reach you but baby, baby I'll never stop No! The night turns into day but I won't let you go 'Cos I'm afraid of spending all my days alone No! With nothing in the way, I see you from the shore To the heart of the moon A satellite in the sky, searching for a truth The radio is alive, playing songs to you When I was a, when I was a A reason just to stay alive

One to make you sick and one to make you better The city listens and I give her my confession Time was on our side we never felt the changes Time is running out, time is running out Now it's black and white, you scrub me from the pages Try to know, when you're lost and alone And you're feeling thrown away There's always a place, a place you can stay In the night, big city lights, making all your dreams come true Shotgun, ringing in my head. A shotgun, thinking of the way you said That the trees were turning red Shotgun, ringing in my head. A shotgun, thinking other things instead And I don't know what to do Weigh me on a scale you'll see an honest balance Tried to heal you though it's nothing but distraction Oh when the seas are burning red And when there's nothing in your head Try to know, when you're lost and alone And you're feeling thrown away There's always a place, a place you can stay In the night, big city lights, making all your dreams come true When the leaves hide the grave You will be saved Shotgun, ringing in my head. A shotgun, thinking of the way you said That the trees were turning red Shotgun, ringing in my head. A shotgun, thinking other things instead And I don't know what to do Shotgun, shotgun That the trees were turning red Shotgun, shotgun And I don't know what to do

Heartbreak, tell me do you feel it too? I taste the blue as I roll my eyes and Heartbreak, won't wait for you Even if you want it to, you're my tainted prize Falling into one, oh I'm the prima donna in this play of my heartless ways They don't wait for you to know but they don't really know who's in control Tell me won't you, tell me won't you, tell me won't you Tell me something new Freedom, I got work to do Memory drowning in the blue, stepping out on what I knew Gimme that time 'cos I don't need it, killing the lie to feed your demons Fighting screaming for my freedom Nothing's gonna do, this solitary hue But my callous heart won't tear apart anew Fake it for the now, frame a soul somehow And chase this freedom's vow Gimme that vibe, I'll show you that way Gimme those things don't complicate Gimme that vibe, I'll show you that feeling in my heart maybe Freedom, I got work to do Memory drowning in the blue, stepping out on what I knew Gimme that time 'cos I don't need it, killing the lie to feed your demons Fighting screaming for my freedom You're never gonna get my lovin' You're never gonna get my love back in your heart On my way home You're never gonna get it You're never gonna get my lovin' You're never gonna get my love back in your heart Fighting screaming for my freedom

At the turn of the tide, here in our last summer of goodbyes Reading books about the way I should be feeling, through the seasons Colours starting to fade, I look away feeling safe from a hidden treason Never thought I'd hurt myself but now I've done it, I did it to you too Colour streaking the sky, I'm screaming that I love you There are roses on the wind but the wheels keep on turning I won't lose In a way not the same, all you really needed was to change Can you live, with the grace? Keep it in that long forgotten place Even though I know you're trying hard to fight the demons that you fed Don't go into the rain you're chasing the pain and I won't look In the light, saw a sign, everything I need's already mine Took the sheets, turned the page, wrote about the ways I could be saved Even though I know I'm trying hard to fight the demons that I fed I go into the rain, to follow the pain but I won't lose Roses round the window pane, hide you from the falling rain Goes around comes back again, drafted by a phantom pen Revel in the honesty, may it bring you clarity Goes around comes back again, like roses round the window pane I won't lose. No Can you take me through the night, stay with me 'til the dawn? When we see the light, shining in their eyes Then we'll know we made it through Me and you Oh I never got a chance to tell you That I could never live without you and I Roses round the window pane, hide you from the falling rain Goes around comes back again, drafted by a phantom pen Revel in the honesty, may it bring you clarity Goes around comes back again, like roses round the window pane I feel it and I know Roses round the window pane I heart it and I know I know I'm always with you, it is time to start living When you need a helping hand If you need to understand You deserve to be loved

All my life Ive been waiting For you to bring a fairytale my way Been living in a fantasy without meaning It's not ok, I don't feel safe I don't feel safe Left Broken, empty and in despair Wanna breathe, cant find air Thought you were sent from up above But you and me never had love So much more i have to say Help me find a way And I wonder if you know, how it really feels To be left outside alone, when it's cold out here Well maybe you should know, just how it feels To be left outside alone, to be left outside alone I tell you, all my life I've been waiting For you to bring a fairytale my way Been living in a fantasy without meaning Its not ok, I don't feel safe I need to pray Why do you play me like a game? Always someone else to blame Careless, helpless little man Someday I might understand There's not much more to say But I hope you find a way Still I wonder if you know, how it really feels To be left outside alone, when it's cold out here Well maybe you should know, just how it feels To be left outside alone, to be left outside alone I tell you, all my life I've been waiting for you to bring a fairytale my way Been living in a fantasy without meaning Its not ok, I don't feel safe I need to pray Heavenly father Save me, please And I wonder if you know, how it really feels To be left outside alone, when it's cold out here Well maybe you should know, just how it feels To be left outside alone, to be left outside alone And I wonder if you know Well maybe you should Left outside alone I tell you, all my life I've been waiting For you to bring a fairytale my way Been living in a fantasy without meaning Its not ok, I don't feel safe I need to pray

Award-winning composer for video games and Scottish artist, Barry "Epoch" Topping (PARADISE KILLER, SENTRY, THATCHER'S TECHBASE, ENCOUNTERS) returns with “The Needs”, 11 songs of lavish reflection in a modern city pop style. The album takes the listener through an emotional exploration of identity and change set against the backdrop of late summer. It fuses city pop, rock and dance music into a rich, dreamy blast of video game-tinged modern pop music.

But “The Needs” is more than just an album title, like Barry explains: “It’s a new ensemble built around a core of the musicians that worked with me on Paradise Killer: Fiona Lynch, Fabian Hernandez, Thomas Temple and Kyle Murray-Dickson. A new trio of horns Elin Andersson, Nicklas Dahlin and Simon Fransman round out the full lineup. Having such talented musicians involved in a much bigger way has allowed us to challenge ourselves and make the best, most over the top music we’ve made yet. ‘The Needs’ was created as a vehicle for my own reflections and is intended to help listeners reflect and find solace too. No album can be universal but if ‘The Needs’ can help people feel seen or understood then I’ll feel like it’s been a success. Getting to make the album has been an extremely rewarding experience.”

Since Barry “Epoch” Topping is a household name for game soundtracks, of course also “The Needs” is influenced by that field: “I’m heavily inspired by the music of video games, so it felt natural to carry that inspiration throughout the album – musically, visually and conceptually. I worked closely with Giannis Milonogiannis, my game development partner at POLYGON BIRD Games, to create a main character for the album. Our idea was for this character to act as a stand-in for the listener, while being part of the broader story for people who want to look deeper.”

Introducing Rhoswen, one of four omnipresent demigods. They’re tasked with maintaining the world’s natural order through their stewardship of the four seasons, while providing humans with insight, inspiration and motivation through emotional and spiritual musical guidance. You could consider them as emotional mediums, or as a friend who introduces you to a new band just when you really need them. As the steward of summer, Rhoswen acts as the album’s main character, tying together the concept with the real-world musical and lyrical themes. Each song is about a different person’s life and experiences, as felt by Rhoswen. The front side of the vinyl’s lyric sheet reads: Rhoswen could hear the heartbeat of the city and she could feel the pain and the joy of the people that lived there. One by one they appeared, drawn to her as the moon draws the sea, with the recognition of a half-remembered dream. She took each one by the hand and led them into her world of music. The radio is alive.
