Exciting Update 💯 We have signed ✒️ a trilateral cooperation agreement with the Overseas Employment Cooperation (OEC) and Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad to strengthen our efforts for safe, orderly, and regular migration. ✈️ Through this cooperation, we aim to: 👉 Raise awareness on safe and regular migration pathways for work and education in Germany, Europe, and the region. 👉 Offer individual and group counselling to students and job seekers. 👉 Share verified information on job opportunities, rights, and application process. 👉 Develop institutional capacity of partners on migration policies, gender-sensitive advisory practices, and structured procedures.   Another major milestone achieved 🎊 We also inaugurated an advisory desk at the OEC office where dedicated staff will now be available to guide potential migrants on their regular migration journey.   Why does this matter❓ Because it ensures sustainability and continuity. Building Safer Learning Spaces in TVET Institutes 🏢 Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (KP-TEVTA) organised a 5-day workshop on Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) for their staff and students of Govt College of Technology Abbottabad to strengthen preparedness and safety in training institutes.   The workshop featured: 🌍 Training on hazards, risk assessment, early warning, and community-based DRR approaches 🚑 Mock drills on fire evacuation, earthquake response, first aid, and casualty handling 🔧 5S (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardise, and Sustain) implementation to improve safety, efficiency, and organisation in workshops   Through interactive sessions in several institutes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and practical exercises, participants are gaining knowledge and hands-on skills to make TVET institutes safer and more resilient.   This support is part of #TeamEurope initiative to strengthen the TVET sector in Pakistan and build a skilled & future-ready workforce. 👩💻 #EUinPakistan #DisasterRiskManagement #CapacityDevelopment #SkillsforAll #GreenSkills #SkilledWorkforce #EmploymentGeneration #TVET Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) European Union in Pakistan National Vocational and Technical Training Commission NAVTTC

The Benazir Income Support Programme is moving from cash disbursements to digital social protection wallets giving millions of women in Pakistan secure and dignified control over their stipends. To strengthen engagement with the private sector, the National Vocational and Technical Training Commission NAVTTC has launched a capacity building initiative for Business & Industry Associations (BIAs) and Institute Management Committees (IMCs). The kick-off event was attended by BIA and IMC representatives from all over the country. This initiative will focus on: ▶️ Developing the capacity of BIAs and IMCs to act as strong partners of TVET institutes. ▶️ Creating structured collaboration between industry and training providers. ▶️ Ensuring that TVET graduates have a smoother school-to-work transition through better linkages with employers. ▶️ Contributing to long-term employability by aligning skills with real market demand.   🤝 This initiative is part of #TeamEurope’s support to empower Pakistan’s youth with relevant skills and support sustainable economic growth. From Pakistan to Germany: Building pathways for safe and regular migration! ✈️ 🌍 🔟 officials from the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis & Human Resource Development, its allied departments, training institutes, and private sector recently attended a study tour to Germany. During the tour, they visited several government and private institutions and met with officials from the Federal Employment Agency (BA), Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and German Economic Institute (IW Köln). They also visited the Pakistan Embassy in Berlin and met with the H.E. Ambassador Saqlain Syedah. The study tour provided the participants with insights into regular migration pathways to the #EU and #Germany. 📊 Strengthening Oversight, Ensuring Accountability Last week, members of Punjab Assembly’s Public Accounts Committees (PAC) attended a two-day seminar on the role and functions of PACs and got insights into financial scrutiny, audit review and parliamentary oversight. 🧵 Earlier this month, we hosted ‘Sustain-Tex’, a two-day technical capacity-building event, in collaboration with the National Compliance Centre under the Ministry of Commerce.   With global sustainability regulations such as under the EU Green Deal reshaping market access requirements, Sustain-Tex addressed compliance and sustainability gaps identified in a recent nationwide industry assessment. Five parallel technical training sessions provided industry professionals with actionable skills in: ➡️ Strategic HR for sustainable & responsible textile enterprises ➡️ Cost reduction & profit maximisation using the DfS methodology ➡️ Risk assessments, human rights due diligence & grievance mechanisms ➡️ Traceability & environmental excellence ➡️ Sustainable quality management for business growth   All sessions of Sustain-Tex were led by our local partners BTIL Academy, Asian Competitiveness Institute (ACI) (Pvt.)
