An American variety show hosted by then-popular actress and former talk show host Faye Emerson, who had gained the nickname of "The First Lady of Television". The gimmick of the series was setting each episode in a different city, and ...See moreAn American variety show hosted by then-popular actress and former talk show host Faye Emerson, who had gained the nickname of "The First Lady of Television". The gimmick of the series was setting each episode in a different city, and tailoring the music and the narrative to the city's setting. The guest stars were people strongly associated with the city. The premiere episode was set in Boston, while subsequent episodes were set in (among other locations) Louisville, Kentucky, Minneapolis, New York City, Los Angeles, and Dallas. Emerson devoted an episode to her own hometown, San Diego. The only non-American cities with their own episodes were Mexico City and Paris, France. Because the series was broadcast on location, it was particularly expensive to produce. It was eventually canceled to be replaced by cheaper shows. Written by Dimos I See less
