In Milala, Malawi, a project by aQysta | Small Farmers. Big Impact - supported by EDP’s A2E Fund - is helping local farmers transform their livelihoods through solar-powered processing technology. One of those farmers is Margret, a mother of two who had long struggled to earn a steady income and ensure that her children could go to school. With access to high-quality groundnut seeds and a guaranteed buyer, she cultivated two acres of groundnuts, sold them at a premium, and used the earnings to buy school uniforms and meals for her daughters, join a farming cooperative - and even purchase a goat. 🌱 This is the power of clean energy - and we’re proud to bring it to where it’s needed most, lighting up the lives of Margret and families like hers. #EDPWeChooseEarth #EnergyTransition #SocialImpact #A2EFund

🌿 Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay (GBTB) is one of the world’s most iconic urban green spaces. Now, it’s also a symbol of clean energy in action, powered by EDP. Through EDP Renewables APAC, we are proud to collaborate with GBTB to expand the park’s solar energy system, bringing over 1,700 solar panels to life across its most emblematic structures, including the Supertree Grove and Bayfront Pavilion. This over 1 MWp project goes beyond technology:, it transforms space, unlocks clean energy in a land-constrained city, and supports the park’s mission of sustainability by reducing grid dependence, boosting efficiency, and lowering costs. How do we know how clean is the electricity we use? One way is by calculating CO₂ emissions per kilowatt-hour (kWh) — a key indicator of how much carbon dioxide is released to produce each unit of energy. At EDP, we’re working to lower the numbers every day with our renewable energy projects. A great example is our new self-consumption solar installation at Nauterra, in Galicia. By generating clean energy on-site, this project will avoid the emission of over 1,300 tons of CO₂ each year — reducing the carbon intensity of the electricity used and supporting a more sustainable industrial future. A decade of action towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) has brought improvement. According to a recent report by the International Energy Agency, 300 million people gained access to electricity, and renewable capacity nearly doubled worldwide since 2015. Still, 666 million people remain without electricity, most in rural areas of Africa, Asia, and South America. What’s changing? International investment in clean energy for developing countries rose 79% between 2015 and 2023, a crucial boost for accelerating access and unlocking opportunity. At EDP, we’re part of this progress. Through our Access to Energy (A2E) Fund, we support transformative projects in Africa and Brazil, bringing renewable power to remote communities, schools, health centres and more. Additionally, most of EDP’s €25 billion investment plan for 2026 is dedicated to renewables, reinforcing our commitment to accelerate the energy transition worldwide and bring clean energy to everyone.
