Summer is often a time for sunshine and vacation. It is also a great season for growth and learning. At Zeekr Technology Europe, our summer interns are thriving across Motion Software Development, Test Integration, ADAS, and Attributes & Power Distribution, gaining hands-on experience through real-world projects. In the Motion SW Development team, Yuchuan Dong, Zlatko Dumovski, and George Vasanth Fransua S have been contributing to projects which focuses on intelligent driving experience. Working closely with our engineers, they are learning through collaboration and enjoying lunch-time ping-pong matches with their teammate Peiyang Zheng - who supports intelligent car building together with our Test Integration team. "The internship has been both interesting and insightful. We really appreciate the openness and support from the engineers, and the room they give us to explore and contribute," they shared. Elsa Andersson and Oscar Preihs, driven by a shared interest in autonomous driving and engineering, are part of the ADAS team. They are developing an internal app to improve data precision during functional test drives. For them, the internship is a great opportunity to accomplish something practical and to dive into real teamwork within the autonomous vehicle industry they are passionate about. Hariharan Sathiyamoorthy has joined the Attributes and Power Distribution team, where he is working on charging behaviour analysis of Zeekr 7X, focusing mainly in the southern part of Sweden. He has gained hands-on experience by practically testing and analyzing in-vehicle communication under different conditions. "It has been a great learning experience since it was a completely new domain for me. Most importantly this internship has broadened my skillset as an active master's student in All Electric Propulsion Systems", said Hari. Meet our summer interns in the Platform & Integration team and the HIL team. Elling Dimmen Roppen and Matias Chillon Leach have joined our Platform & Integration team, working to improve the language precision of the voice recognition system in Zeekr cars. With backgrounds in computer science and mechanical engineering, they collaborate closely with our engineers to support one of the most user-facing features in our vehicles. “We are grateful for the opportunity to dive into this industry, to learn about the testing process, and most importantly, to be part of this team,” said Elling and Matias. Meanwhile, Elsa Ryrlen and Hugo Krona have been welcomed into the HIL team. Elsa, currently studying engineering communication in IT, is working as a web developer to build an internal tool that enhances team efficiency. Hugo contributes to HIL support, assisting with test adaptation and system rebuilds, gaining valuable insight into real-time simulation environments. A few of our engineers from the Structural Dynamics team joined the 2025 Magna ECS Simulation Conference to share how we’re using Multi-Body Dynamics and Digital Twin technology in chassis rig testing at Zeekr. These tools help us test and adjust complex systems early in the development process, which saves time, reduces waste, and helps us build better products. Behind every test is a team of people who genuinely care about getting things right. We are happy to see their work being shared and celebrated in the broader engineering community. For the past seven years, Introduce a Girl to Engineering day (IGEday) has been more than just a date on our calendar, it’s been a chance to open minds, inspire, and break barriers. It’s the day we open our doors to girls and non-binary youth and invite them to see what engineering really looks like at Zeekr Technology Europe and more importantly, what it can look like for them. When Xiaotian Zhang and José Eduardo Maciel Mendoza joined us for their thesis project, they didn’t just come to learn from us, they came to think with us. Under the supervision of our expert Guanqun CAO, they explored new ideas, tested concepts, and brought their project to life. Recently, their project received a distinction from their universities, and we are very proud of that. Xiaotian reflects on the collaborative experience that shaped their time at Zeekr Tech EU: “My teammates were supportive and helpful. When conducting our experiments, we often felt uncertain about the results we were obtaining until the data matched our expectations, and we finally became confident that we were on the right track.
