Voici l’édition 2025 de ma cartographie des éditeurs français de logiciels open source commerciaux 🇫🇷🐧💰 Après une première version en 2024, où j’avais notamment omis certains acteurs, j’ai décidé en 2025 de refondre complètement cette cartographie avec l’équipe data d’Avolta, en identifiant l’intégralité des éditeurs de logiciels open source commerciaux fondés en France (ou par des Français). Cette nouvelle version comprend désormais 130 entreprises répertoriées, dont 84% ont leur siège social en France, et employant près de 10 000 personnes. Coté financement, un peu plus de 55% d’entre elles ont effectué au moins une levée de fonds, pour un montant cumulé proche de €3 milliards. Cette cartographie n’inclut que des sociétés commerciales éditant des logiciels, indépendamment de leur taille et de leur ancienneté, ou des société de services qui éditent également leur propre logiciel. Comme l’année dernière, j’ai essayé de ne pas être dogmatique sur la définition de l’open source en incluant notamment les éditeurs qui ont un modèle open core, ceux qui contribuent de manière significative à un ou plusieurs projets open source (et vendent du service par dessus) et les acteurs de l’IA open weight (Mistral AI). Toutes les données sont évidemment accessibles en open source.
