Which positive effects should be maintained from the Covid-19 Crises in Bangkok

Travel times, pollution and traffic have substantially improved during pandemic times in megacities like Bangkok. The separate positive effects of work from home, school closures, banks and public offices closures and others could clearly be seen. Work from home and school closures had the biggest effect on road traffic as those occur on fixed timetables by large groups during rush hours. In addition those induce additional travel, as most parents will deliver their children at school before commencing work.

It also could be seen that work from home is less an obstacle as it was seen before. Proactive learning from home via Zoom, Skype or Teams was a little bit more challenging partially due to equipment, but also for motivational & concentration reasons. However both definitely were an enrichment and added flexibility if applied sensibly for shorter periods of times for suitable topics. It would be a pity to lose those advantages again.

Covid-19 has also shown that the frequent cleaning, higher hygienic standards as well the reduction of aerosols through HEPA Filters has not only strongly reduced Covid-19 infections but at the same time many other infectious diseases.
