    Collaboration Alchemist

This Christmas, give the gift of Collaboration Alchemy potions. The VisAgi emporium just got stocked with the first 5+5 potions to make you a better empathetic leader! What are potions? They are short training modules that can be run in isolation as a way to amplify the attention and understand on a specific aspect of teamwork. Or they can be combined with others to multiply the effects like in the best role playing games (who said that work cannot be gamified? 😉). For these first potions the shopkeeper has ventured in the expert land of Agile Mastery Institute and in particular in the valley of Scrum Mastery Pathway. The path there is 6 months long and helps you moving from a Good to a Great Scrum Master. Certain steps of the path are not limited to Scrum Masters though and apply instead to anyone who wants to lead by influence in a human focused way. Some of those steps have been distilled and bottled for you and now you can buy them all individually or as a set here: https://lnkd.in/e4_NEecf Let's look at what each potion does: 𝐀 𝐓𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝘚𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘦𝘥𝘴 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘪𝘥 Lean to have those difficult conversations that today you are avoiding hoping that they simply go away mostly because you don't know how to treat safely potentially explosive arguments. How to challenge and provide negative feedback tactfully? 𝐀𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝘓𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘉𝘪𝘢𝘴 Leading a group of diverse people is hard. It's so hard that often our natural response is to fall into a trap called Cognitive Bias that make us ignore that diversity. But that are techniques to mitigate that. How to take decisions ensuring inclusivity and limiting the impact of bias? 𝐀𝐧 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 - 𝘓𝘪𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘺 Helping team and organisations change habits is always hard. Even more so when one has not authority to force a certain change. The only thing that we can rely on in those cases is our influence an that's directly proportional to how much the people we interact with feel connected with us. How can we create stronger bonds? 𝐀𝐧 𝐄𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 - 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘭𝘧 𝘵𝘰 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘖𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 Even when our job is to deal with emergencies, we need to put in place sustainable practices or we risk to become the emergency. When we don't take enough care of ourselves we get into a trajectory that leads to burnout. What are ways to identify burnout before it happens? 𝐀 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 - 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘔𝘰𝘳𝘦 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘦𝘴 We very often believe that creativity is a natural gift that we either have or not. That's not not correct. Creativity can be trained and fed. Let's try to unlock a deeper, uncontained level of creativity!

Respect is more than just a value. Respect is the foundation of trust, collaboration, and innovation. As leaders, when we show respect, we create an environment where people feel valued and heard. This fosters open communication, encourages diverse ideas, and builds strong relationships. But respect isn't something that can be demanded in return. It must be earned, often regardless of any formal authority. Leaders at any level can cultivate respect by:- Listening Actively Truly understanding others' perspectives shows that you value their input and experiences Being Consistent Acting with integrity and aligning your words with actions builds trust and reliability Supporting Others Helping your team members grow and succeed, whether through mentorship or giving credit where it’s due, demonstrates genuine care for their development Admitting Mistakes Being open about your own imperfections shows humility and creates a culture where learning from failure is accepted and encouraged When we earn respect without relying on titles or positions, we lead through influence rather than authority. This type of leadership is powerful because it’s based on genuine connections and mutual trust. It encourages others to follow not because they have to, but because they want to. Respect is therefore more than just a 'nice to have' - it's a critical ingredient in any leadership role. So how do you earn respect in your leadership journey? This question is discussed in further detail on the Scrum Mastery Pathway™. Don't be fooled by the name. The Scrum Mastery Pathway™ is for anyone that is looking to build high performing teams, enhance their personal, team or organisational resilience and continuous improvement habits. On the Scrum Mastery Pathway™ we teach and coach skills not frameworks. See link in the comments to find out more. #Respect #Respected #Influence #PsychologicalSafety #Teamwork #Leadership #ServantLeadership #MasteryMatters #ScrumMasteryPathway #SMP The Scrum Mastery Pathway™ is licensed by the Agile Mastery Institute and is delivered by Robin Hackshall of Enigma Consulting and Solutions.
