The summer is flying by, with our interns already near the end of their placements. We caught up with Ayomide Olabode, Freya Salt Smith, Jesse Harry-Brown, Annabelle Akanni, William White and Joshua Clarke about each of their experiences – from where they currently are in their professional paths, to how they got their roles at AGR (shout-out to 10,000 Black Interns and Visionpath!) and what they've learned along the way. This year's cohort has been a brilliant, engaged and thoughtful group, and we're already looking forward to seeing what they get up to next 💫 Tune in to hear their insights!

We chatted with some of our summer interns about what they've learned so far, and where they see themselves in the next five years. They're keen to pass on those insights to other young people interested in exploring careers in insurance. Circulating between different teams within Professional & Financial Risks has opened my eyes to the variety and breadth that the London Market can offer. I’ve loved the environment at AGR, as everyone I've met has been so lovely and welcoming. In the next five years, I see myself working towards earning my Certificate in Insurance." – Madeleine Ruoss "I came to London eager to experience the unique risks this market has to offer, and my time with the AGR Marine team has surpassed all expectations. It’s been gratifying to work alongside such knowledgeable professionals and gain exposure to complex, specialised risks. Over the past six weeks, I’ve seen first-hand what sets the London Market apart – its history, its pace and its people. This experience has strengthened my technical understanding of insurance and has shown me what it means to be a genuine, effective broker.” – Evan Fueyo "Being at AGR has been incredible. I've loved working in such a positive, collaborative environment, and have enjoyed observing how relationships are formed and fostered in the insurance industry. I've also learnt the importance of communication and networking. Having gained basic industry knowledge and skills from this placement, I hope to secure a role in the insurance industry once I've graduated from university." – Isabella Burn "It’s been fast-paced and collaborative, and I’ve had great exposure to the North American flood market. I've really enjoyed meeting new people and shadowing senior brokers to see how they foster strong, long-term relationships with underwriters. Ed has over 10 years of broking experience in the London Market, with expertise in Midstream & Downstream Energy, Power & Utilities, Chemicals and Biofuels.
