Did you know that 80% of mums in the UK will stop breastfeeding before they want to? 🤱 According to UNICEF, one of the main reasons is a lack of support in society, including in the workplace. We're continuing to work hard to support breastfeeding mums returning to work. For over a year now, returning mums at AXA have had access to comfortable, private rooms where they can express milk and store it safely until the end of the day, so they can continue breastfeeding for as long as they choose after they return to the office 💼 Helen Rose, who worked with our Balance Network and other AXA teams to set up these rooms said: "I’d heard of women stopping breastfeeding early (or sometimes not even starting in the first place) because of fears about returning to work and feeling they had no other option. I wanted other mums to have the support and facilities to enable them to continue their feeding journey without impacting their career or their family choices." This year, #WorldBreastfeedingWeek is focussing on creating support systems that allow women to continue breastfeeding for as long as they want to. We're proud to offer a range of other support too, including a phased return to the office, employee networks and our Balance Working Families workstream for peer-to-peer support. #KnowYouCan #WBW2025

Everyone knows that volunteering can make a big difference to people and communities, but what about the volunteers themselves? 🤔 Studies have shown that volunteering can improve your mental health, life satisfaction, social life, and self-esteem. So we give our colleagues 21 hours of paid volunteering leave every year so they can get out of the office, give a little something back to their local communities, and feel great while they're at it ❤ Recently, 387 AXA colleagues went litter picking at 15 locations across the UK, collecting an impressive 2.8 tonnes of litter. But what was equally impressive was the positive impact it had on their wellbeing 👇 If you're interested in a role where you can give back to your community and your wellbeing is taken seriously, keep an eye on our job vacancies at jobs.axa.co.uk. #AXAHeartsinAction #KnowYouCan #AXAUKCareers

Last week, we asked you: What’s the biggest barrier holding women back from progressing a career in the insurance industry. The top answer? A massive 48% of you said gender bias and stereotypes.    Yesterday we hosted over 70 passionate professionals at a Women in Finance Charter Hackathon. The day was dedicated to brainstorming solutions and exploring new ways the finance industry can better support women to progress in their careers.   From facilitating seamless returns after a career break to unlocking pathways to executive roles and shaping future ways of working, the room was full of energy and debate resulting in fresh recommendations to put forward to the Women in Finance taskforce.    #WomenInFinance #KnowYouCan #Inclusion Tamara Gillan Dr Michelle Penelope King Chartered FCIPD Jaz Gillon Tara Foley Gwenael Fourre Megan Hale Lyndsey Simpson

Picture this: The future of insurance - a balanced and fair industry where men and women thrive equally. At AXA UK, creating gender equality remains an important priority, and we’re proud to have been supporting HM Treasury’s Women in Finance Charter since 2017. We’ve been working alongside member organisations, enhancing company policies, recognising caring responsibilities for both men and women, and actively supporting and upskilling our female leaders to aid the progression and appointment of women into senior roles. But there’s always more that needs to be done. Next week, we’re excited to be hosting a Women in Finance Charter Hackathon, where attendees will explore new ways the insurance industry can turn the dial and better support women to progress in their careers.  #WomenInFinance #KnowYouCan #Inclusion
